Guest guest
Greetings Raw Soul family, I just want to let you know that I checked out the food supplier(?) 5 A Day CSA. I met Dr. Vicki Reese and she handed me my Health Box for which I had prepaid. It had wonderful produce in it. I got rainbow chard, heirloom lettuce, lovely kale, cucumbers, squash, a candy onion (it's quite large), black raspberries, blueberries (the best tasting that I've ever had), and a beautiful star shaped zucchini, and I might be forgetting something. Everything was organic. She was easy to get to (right on Georgia Avenue), and she was there waiting for me. I look forward to getting food from her regularly. Thank you Nancy for the tip. I'd was not at all aware of this service. Peace
Guest guest
Hi there, It seems that you got quite a few things from this CSA. You know, a few years ago, a friend of mine registered in one of this asociations, but the amount of food she got every week was not enough for her family and she ended up shopping at Roots anyways. You don't mention the amounts you got, but would you say that it would be enough to feed a family of 1, 2, 4??? We are 4, and I shop for produce at MOM's, but I am always looking for new ways to save... Thank you! Guest guest
Inge, As Nancy stated, the Health Boxes come in various sizes. The individual box provides enough for 2-4 people depending on the amount of fruits and vegetables that they eat. For some, the box lasts for two weeks. For others that truly eat 5ADAY , 1 box lasts for 1 week. The family box adequately provides enough fruits and vegetables for a family of 4. I have not had any complaints so far on the number of fruits and veggies available. I also love working with familes and individuals as well to introduce new fruits and vegetables which are local and rarely seen in the markets such as yellow doll watermelons, lemon cucumbers and Austrian fingerling potatoes to name a few.
