Could you explain the blood type lists for those of us unfamiliar with

what you mean?

I try to do the same...But I don't agree with

everything I'm supposed to stay away from. I'm A+ and

cannot live without wheat, cantaloupe or bananas:)

But, I do use it as a guideline. My husband is an O

so I cook meat for him once a week.

Warmly,

Allison

Sure. A few years ago a naturopathic doc named Peter D'Adamo wrote

a book called, " Eat Right 4 Your Type. " The lady at my huge health

food store said that book got more rave reviews than anything else

she ever sold there. I had lots of friends raving about it, so I

got it, and I'm really glad I did.

D'Adamo (www.dadamo.com) did 10+ years of research into people's

blood types versus the foods they eat -- under a microscope and with

real people. He made some amazing discoveries... that people

respond to food according to their blood type (O, A, B, AB). He

went on to write several more books about it. He discovered, for

instance, that O type blood doesn't tolerate wheat well.... and so

on with all the types of foods and all the types of blood he

tested. Anyway, he came up with a list of recommended foods, okay

foods, and AVOID foods for each blood type.

D'Adamo explains that eating wrong is cumulative. When you're a

child and you eat your AVOID foods, you just get more colds, or

maybe no symptoms at all. But as you age, it starts to catch up to

you and eventually results in the biggies -- heart attacks, strokes,

diabetes, cancer, etc. Everyone I know of over 40 (and some under)

who has followed his recommendations has reported tremendous

benefits from it (including me) -- they have gotten rid of heart

palpitations, heartburn, flatulence, digestive disturbances of all

types, itchy skin, chronic coughs, depression, recurrent strokes,

heart problems, etc... lowered pain levels dramatically from things

like arthritis, fibromyalgia, etc.

I have TREMENDOUS benefits from it myself. There are certain foods

I just won't eat any more because I've come to understand (by my own

experiments) how horrible they make me feel. I'm not talking about

junk foods (chocolate and peanut butter are fine for me). For

instance, (I'm an AB) bananas, corn, vinegar and oranges absolutely

do me in. By regulating what types of food I eat, I have far less

pain, far fewer symptoms of various types, no more indigestion,

better sleep, more energy, and definitely a much better mood.

You can find the food lists (free) here:

http://darkwing.uoregon.edu/~sshapiro/ER4YT/FoodLists_TOC.html

Scroll down and pick your race, then your blood type.

If you live/eat with someone of a different blood type, you can

scroll down to the bottom of that page and find lists for the

combinations. For instance, if you're an A and you live with an O,

print out the A-O list and when you shop/cook, those are the foods

that you both can eat.

If you're suffering from any kind of health problems, try avoiding

all your AVOID foods for a month, and see how you feel. Hey, it's

free to try, so what do you have to lose? Then take the food you

most hated to give up, and sit down to a healthy dose of it. Then

see how you feel for the next THREE days... then you will know

exactly what that food does to you, and after that you can make an

educated decision about whether or not you want to eat it from then

on. Chances are good that when you read the AVOID list for your

type, you'll notice foods on there that you already knew made you

feel bad. Sticking to the food lists has been the #1 thing I've

found to make a clear difference in how I feel on a daily basis.

I met a gal who told me she knew she had bad food allergies (D'Adamo

doesn't call it allergies, but that's what I think it is from his

description). She flew from Seattle to Boston and stayed a week

while she underwent loads of tests from a big food allergy

specialist. She came back with a list of foods to avoid. Years

later D'Adamo came out with his book. She compared the lists, and

they were identical.

I am an A blood type too and have found out that A types should only eat

veggies.

I've never heard that before...interesting....I'm a B positive - I always

try to remember that when I'm upset and it cheers me up (be positive, get

it?)

I am sorry but I just cannot put much stock in the " blood type " diets. My

husband is A+ and is one of the biggest meat eaters around.....is 61, has no

health problems what-so-ever and although he will eat anything I cook, including

vegetarian meals, he is basically a carnivore. I am O+ and have always eaten a

well balanced, well rounded diet and while I love vegetarian meals very much and

cook them a lot, I am not a total vegetarian.
