Guest guest
I hope everyone is doing well today. I am just getting over a back-to-school- special cold. Bleh! *lol* Okay, I have got to ask, what is a chigger? Yes, I am a yankee; born and raised in upstate NY. I live in southern Oregon now, and we have scorpions, black widow spiders, and rattlesnakes. I don't think we have chiggers, but since I haven't clue what they are, we just might! I am guessing they are sort of like jumping, stinging grasshoppers? Just a guess. " Chigger " brings to mind razor- toothed little meanies. *lol* Melinda, that blood-type book sounds very intriguing. I have never heard anything about it before. I will have to get a copy of that book and give it a read through. Also, thanks for reminding me about the birds and how much they love grapes. I finally know what I am going to do with them. (Thanks to everyone for the suggestions) We have a wildlife rescue place here called Wildlife Images, and they accept food donations. They have lots of owls, eagles, buzzards, and other birds that have been abandoned or injured. Plus they have a bunch of bears and if the birds don't eat them, they will. Annieacid, Hamtaro comes on cartoon network at 3pm PST. I'm not sure where you are at on the time zone, but if you do a bit of math you can figure out when it is on in your local. Definately a must see show for hamster lover like you. *lol* Shawn, pumpkin seeds and squash seeds are so good. You just eat the whole thing after you toast them in the oven and add a bit of salt to them. Unlike sunflower seeds where you shuck off the hull and eat the kernel, pumpkin seeds are quite good to eat the whole seed. They have a definate nutty flavor, IMO. I posted that recipe for making them with a bit of oil and sprinkling ranch dressing powder over them. Very yummy. Hey Allison, you should look into moving to southern Oregon. We have the zone 7 garden region, so we can grow early in spring and late into the fall, and we don't have to drive in snow, or scrape windows very often here in the valley. If you want snow and like to ski, it is only about 45 minutes drive up into the moutains for that kind of fun. I love it. Those fake crab cakes with the dipping sauce sound so delicious! You are all very inspiring and making me hungry. Cheers! *coffeemug salute* ~ P_T ~ The great rulers - the people do not notice their existence. The lesser ones they attach to and praise them. One of the conditions of our marriage was that I not force dh out of state - ever;) His sister lives in Portland and he does love the mountains. He prefers our beaches b/c you can actually sit half naked, baking in the sun while sipping ice cold beers whereas the beaches there are a bit chilly. We're planning a trip to Portland this next summer, I'm pretty excited! It is gorgeous there:) I do love it here...I've learned to live (as well as claim my superiority) with/over the painful insects. I don't mind the heat and do like the fact that I don't have to worry about being snowed in. Texas does have something for everyone: beaches, mountains, desert, swamps.... Guest guest
Hi P_T, hope you feel better and soon. I'm gonna have to try those pumpkin seeds shortly since the candy holiday is coming shortly. Gotta work on my carving skills. Cheers, Shawn. > " ~ P_T ~ " <patchouli_troll > > > Hello this tuesday. >Tue, 01 Oct 2002 16:21:47 -0000 > >I hope everyone is doing well today.
