Guest guest
I have noticed this posted in the ingredient listings on several recipes that get posted on the other vegetarian recipe group before. (quick-veggie) Worchestershire contains anchovies which are little fishies, so it isn't really a vegetarian friendly ingredient, right? I was wondering what item in your pantries you use to substitute for this item in recipes? Thanks! ~ P_T ~ Language, n. Vegetarian Worcestershire sauces (no anchovies) are available in natural food stores - I'd seek one out, I like Worcestershire sauce. If I couldn't find one, I'd probably use Tamari - not the same at all, but everything that calls for Worcestershire would also be good with tamari. I might add a teaspoon of honey also - Worcestershire has some sweetness that tamari doesn't have. You know: I might use a teriyaki sauce. I think that's more similar than tamari is, now that I think about it. Pat -- Pat Meadows Books, books! Low prices. Guest guest
P_T, the last bottle of worchestershire sauce I had didn't have anchovies listed in the ingrediants. Either way, there is a vegetarian worchstershire sauce with the name brand " The Wizards " . There is a bottle in my fridge, so if you want the ingrediant list, let me know.
