Guest guest
I have never tried any myself, but last year an online friend told me he bought one for his family's Thanksgiving bash. I asked him how it tasted and what the texture was like. He claimed it tasted pretty good, but texture-wise it was more like ham than turkey. *shrugs* Also, like Pat said, I think they are kind of expensive. But if you can catch a good deal on one, why not check it out. We expect a full report if you do. *jk* :-) ~ P_T ~
Guest guest
Greetings again, I like Tofurky and have it fairly regularly. The texture is more hamlike and is much better served piping hot than warm. The stuffing that comes along with it is also very good. A great alternative to turkey. I have never seen it on sale here (Houston, TX) and it is a bit expensive but, I feel, worth it. On another note, I have tried the tofurky deli slices and don't prefer them. In fact, I haven't found any vegetarian deli slices that I like and have tried many. Any suggestions? windy --- ~ P_T ~ <patchouli_troll wrote: > I have never tried any myself, but last year an > online friend told me he bought > one for his family's Thanksgiving bash. It comes in various flavors, I can't remember the brand name I bought. Good stuff. It's expensive, but good. Pat -- Pat Meadows Books, books! Low prices. Guest guest
Hmmm, www.tofurkey.com say that retailers sell them for around $20 but they sell them for $55 (including shipping). It comes with tempeh drumsticks, gravy and tofurkey jerky. Well, if we go that route for Thanksgiving Day, I will definitely let everyone know. Cheers, Shawn. > " ~ P_T ~ " <patchouli_troll > > > Re: Tofurky anyone? >Sun, 06 Oct 2002 16:19:49 -0000 > >I have never tried any myself, but last year an online friend told me he >bought >one for his family's Thanksgiving bash. Guest guest
Hello Windy, Thanks for the information on Tofurkey. The company says they distribute them to " Whole Foods " . I think I might give them a call before Turkey Day. I think their Westheimer store is the biggest in town. Hmm, veg deli slices, I haven't purchased that in awhile. I believe I used to get Yves. Thanks again. Cheers, Shawn. >Windy Wiedemann <windygarden1 > > >Re: Re: Tofurky anyone? >Sun, 6 Oct 2002 09:34:51 -0700 (PDT) > >Greetings again, > >I like Tofurky and have it fairly regularly.
