Guest guest
Well Irene, you just made me hungry for some Indian food. LOL Being born and raised in India I have missed some really good east Indian food. Thanks a MILLION for the recipes you shared. I have GOT to make this. It looks SO good. Even my mouth is watering now. LOL Day went really well Shawn thanks. It seems to get better everyday. Not sure why but it just does. Hope yours is too. I haven't forgotten about the gluten steaks I made. They are really good. I will get them printed out soon. I promise. Take care now and goodnight. Hope you all have sweet dreams. JC ===== LIVING ON COOKIE TIME! A man was sitting in his living room wondering what time it was, when he heard his small son out in the kitchen. " Bobby, " he called out, " what is the little hand on? " After a short pause, Bobby replied, " A chocolate chip cookie. Guest guest
My husband's family is from Punjab and this is the way that they make Kichadi(this is the way they pronounce the dish). My mil takes 1 part mung beans to two parts rice. She uses white rice but I use brown. She starts boiling the mung beans in enough water so that when it is cooked it will still be a little bit soupy. When the beans are halfway cooked, then she adds the rice. When I use brown rice I add the rice sooner. I think you can go ahead and add a little turmeric if you like. When it is done she/we season it with some salt, masala, and red pepper. You can add some butter now or wait and add the butter to each individual serving. My mil likes to add a lot of butter but I try and use the least that I can for health reasons. That's it. It is about the most simple Indian dish that I know of. We always add chopped raw onion to our bowl of Kichadi. It is really good and my husband loves it for breakfast. Anne Faith Hill - Exclusive Performances, Videos, & more faith. Guest guest
Wow wow wow JC. You must have seen many beautiful things in India. Indian food is my favorite ever. I will have to post my recipe for Channa Masala tomorrow (I use a pre-mixed masala however - " Shan " ). I just had some for dinner. My 3 utensils were 3 buttered tortillas broiled til firm (no naan, sadly). I had a side of onions mixed with lemon juice and curry powder. If you have any stories of India, I would love to hear them. Everybody have a great day on Thursday. Cheers, Shawn. >Jeanne Reiswig <r5c2j > > > Will have to make Indian food soon. >Wed, 9 Oct 2002 03:20:08 -0400 (EDT) > >Well Irene, you just made me hungry for some Indian >food.
