I get the Heartguard Chewables in the 6 pack & pay something like $16, I

think, for a six pack. Then, they have a $5 rebate, which brings it down to

$11, so for a six month supply, it's less than $2 a month per pet. Now, keep

in mind that mine is for the ultra teeny weeny dog size :) LOL!

Yeah! Dittos here. I buy those heartguard chewies right now, and they aren't

that cheap. If there is something compatable and for only $2, I'd like to know

about it as well.

OH. Maybe that's why. We have two large dogs - not

immense, but large.

I have two Jack Russell terriers, so they only weigh about 13 lbs.. I just

rechecked my vet records and yeah, I am getting them for very cheap. Last

time I bought a 12 pack for $22.80; which is only $1.90 per chewie. I feel beter

now all of a sudden. *lol* I guess I have nothing at'all to grouse about, eh?

What type of dogs do you have?

I have three beagles and it's about $15 per dog for 6

months. Luckily, they're all about the same size

(give or take a pound or two). So, if I can't get

them all their own package, I can just get one

package.

I am going to talk to our vet next spring* and see if I can

lower the cost of both heartworm med and FrontLine by buying

the giant-dog size and splitting one dose for our two dogs:

our two together weigh about what one really large dog would

weigh.

We're paying quite a bit for both the heartworm stuff and

FrontLine and we're very broke at the moment - my husband's

been unemployed for well over a year, actually he's applying

for disability (health problems) but it will be another year

or two before we know if he gets it. In the meantime, we're

living pretty much on our savings...

(*Neither one is necessary in winter here - it gets too cold

for either fleas or mosquitoes.)
