Guest guest
Be careful ladies! A friend of mine had an interesting experience. She had taken her husband and father into the same hospital for similar symptoms and they checked them out immediately for possible heart attack. A year later, she came up with the same sypmptoms herself, went to the same hospital and they did NOTHING to test her for heart attack. Don't you know, women don't have those silly male problems. Given her physical condition, it would have been the first thing I would have guessed. She was sooooo mad. Happened to be friends with the head of the hospital and so got to explain her visit... I don't know what happened but the fact is that the reason that women die more frequently of heart attack is because they are never treated for it, even with the same symptoms that men pressent. She was so scared that she didn't stand up for her self.... Take a friend, bulldog, someone to fight for you. Don't back down. Just because we have ovaries doesn't mean we don't deserve the same level of medical care. Just because we have ovaries doesn't mean we don't d! eserve the >same level of medical care. I've read of similar things. I had chest pain and shortness of breath about a year and a half ago, and we went to the ER and they admitted me overnight, and did a stress test the next day, plus various other tests - my heart was fine. So this doesn't ALWAYS happen. BTW, it was asthma that I had - the silly hospital missed that completely and I hadn't had asthma in so long I'd forgotten what it felt like! I realized what it was the next day, and got an albuterol inhaler from my doctor, and was fine. There were big maple trees (to which I'm allergic) pollinating outside the windows of the apartment where we then lived and that's what caused it. As soon as the maples finished pollinating, the asthma was finished too. I got asthma last spring here also, when one specific bush bloomed outside our bedroom windows - we're digging it up and getting rid of it before it blooms next spring. Too bad, it's beautiful - it's a Scotch Broom, covered with yellow flowers in spring. But breathing is more important. Pat -- Pat Meadows Books, books! Low prices. Guest guest
So interesting that you brought this up...My Stepdad's Mother (77) died three weeks ago from this. She was diagnosed with pnuemonia and was sent home. Two days later she arrested and was put on life support for the afternoon. The family took her off and she died. Very sad, and VERY unnecessary. Heart disease is one of the, if not the number one killer of women. One of these days doctors will come around. She wasn't blood related which is why I didn't bring her up when I brought up my Father. Warmly, Allison --- genie bottle <geniesflower wrote: > > Be careful ladies!
