Guest guest
thanks! I have no idea about cottage cheese, I never liked the stuff personally, I think it's the texture, but I'll keep my eye out! I love soy yogurt too and soy pudding also...finished the last of my chocolate 4-pack today Love eating pudding and yet still feeling healthy while eating it. I bought some soy-rice-yeast tri-milk today, I'll try it out tomorrow morning with breakfast. Wasn't worried about a heated discussion so much as the fact that the group's main page states a respect for different types of vegetarianism and I support that and was afraid that my question might incite some responses that may seem pro/contra one or the other, hence the email invitation. I found out today one of my favorite german comedian/actor (Dirk Bach) who is a vegetarian and loves to eat but hates cooking now has a cookbook out! That amuses me so I'll have to go to the bookstore tomorrow to see what sort of recipes are in it. -Katie , GeminiDragon <thelilacflower> wrote: > Hi Katie, > I have cow's milk allergies but I get by with the rice cheese and once in a great while I add some grated paremsan on spaghetti or sharp cheddar grated on a tostada with no problems. You do need to refrigerate the soy and rice cheese. I never cared for milk but I do miss cottage cheese, haven't found a replacement for that yet. The vegan cheese cake I make is wonderful and I do enjoy soy yogurt is also very tasty. I use eggs and dairy when I bake so there's just no way I could go completely vegan. I do buy the cage free eggs though. Oh I don't think we will get into a heated discussion here. It's good hearing thoughts on this. PLEASEEEEEEEE let me know if anyone has a replacement for cottage cheese (:-))))) > Smiles, Donna > > budgiegirl2003 <budgiegirl2003> wrote: > thanks for the reply. Guest guest
soy pudding is sooooo easy to make!! especially chocolate! =) (thanks for the idea... I think I'll make some for tonight!!) my family is vegan... although I resisted that " title' for many many months after we made the changes to our diet... Since we have two kids, and we all made the decision as a family to cut out dairy & eggs (we were already vegetarian at the time) ... we used the term " vegan " ... still... I worried that I'd be ridiculed if I made a mistake and unknowingly ate something not on the 'vegan' list.. now I don't so much care what I'm called ... I eat delicious food, and none of it comes from animals... and that works for us! =) And I LOVE to bake, and simply use soy , rice, almond etc in place of milk and I use flax eggs for the egg and have not had any problems baking that way... I think that was one of my biggest worries when we decided to go cut dairy & eggs =) peace, Jenni On Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at 02:06 PM, budgiegirl2003 wrote: > I > love soy yogurt too and soy pudding also...finished the last of my > chocolate 4-pack today Love eating pudding and yet still feeling > healthy while eating it

Guest guest
Thanks. I have a lot of questions (despite being vegetarian for awhile I think I could still come up with a new one everyday). I try to find information online first, but if I can't find an answer or something's not clear this group always has the answer! I'll let you know about the cookbook-from everything I'm reading about it, it looks like actual complicated recipes. They're apparently his favorite recipes as far as foods he enjoys to eat...I just doubt he's ever actually cooked any of them, lol. Colorful Noodle Casserole with a side salad at the cafeteria tomorrow! MMMMmmmmmmmmm! -Katie , GeminiDragon <thelilacflower> wrote: > Your questions are great. Guest guest
Its so cool that you decided as a family! Seems to me, tho, that it'd be equally cool if you decided together, not labled by some outside " authority, " as to what and how to eat healthily and humanely!
