Guest guest
Hm, I don't use any P----- juice. No cologne at all. I am afraid I am daunted and dismayed by those who think they need enough so that you can smell them 100 feet away and then get into an elevator that I'm on. I will admit to smelling some lovely scents on people who know a bit of control but I certainly am more frequently terrorized by those who don't. (Besides which I don't want to get myself in trouble by following those people around who do have the lovely scents (and sense).) I agree with you on using leather goods until they're worn out. Seems almost rude to the animal. That may sound sort of strange but I figure if I indirectly took their life before I was a vegetarian then I had better not be frivolous about what I took. Of course, I am well aware that so many things in my house have animal goods and I can't do much if anything about it. It is my understanding that even wallboard is put together with glue which contains blood from cows. Someone is working on a glue with a soy substitute but I don't know whether it is available yet or not. Besides my wife would be most displeased with me if I started tearing down all the walls in the house. Sometimes I am not successful about getting a good leather replacement. I know I bought one belt on-line ( I think it was hemp but I can't remember now) which became very ragged in a short time. I now have a cotton belt and it seems to be lasting a lot longer. Same for shoes. I bought a nice pair from a vegan shoe place on-line but they only lasted about a year. Then I bought another pair of shoes from New Balance that is supposed to be totally synthetic and they are lasting much longer. Of course I think it would be almost impossible to know that no animal products went into the making of shoes or other apparel without actually making them on one's own and I know I don't have the skill to do that. Guest guest
I agree Gary, I can't stand it when people put on so much cologne/perfume that it seems to consume the air...and my lungs. And actually, I think if someone feels compelled to put so much on, it is an attempt to overcompensate for some inherent flaw or lack of self- esteem within the individual..like women who apply make-up with a spatula or the lil fast-driving punks in pseudo-sports car blaring the mega-bass stereo system.
