Guest guest
The below quote taken from Sherri's post is from Harlan Ellison. I couldn't believe it when I saw it because I am a rabid Ellison fan. So this is my question. Where do you all get the cool quotes that are tagged on the ends of your posts? Are they generated for you by your email? Or are you all really THAT COOL of people (which of course you are anyway). I ask because I see so many amazing quotes from so many interesting authors, leaders, etc some of whom are relatively obscure to most folks. I'm guessing that they are generated for you by some program or other but I'm " ignant " as to if this is so. Maija " They used dogs. They used probes. They used cardio plate crossoffs. They used teepers. They used bribery. They used stick tites. They used intimidation. They used torment. They used torture. They used finks. They used cops. They used search and seizure. They used fallaron. They used betterment incentives. They used finger prints. They used the bertillion system. They used cunning. They used guile. They used treachery. They used Raoul-Mitgong but he wasn't much help. They used applied physics. They used techniques of criminology. And what the hell, they caught him. Guest guest
I don't know how others here do it, but I find them by reading and then save them on my computer. They are randomly chosen (most times) and placed at the end of my replies. I only save those which I like or hold a certain meaning for me. ~ P_T ~ When a thing is funny, search it carefully for a hidden truth. -George Bernard Shaw, writer, Nobel laureate (1856-1950) ~~~~*~~~~*~~~~*~~~~*~~~~*~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>
Guest guest
I have a program (Kookie Jar) that randomly attaches quotations to my email .sig file, and comes programmed with about 15 or 20 qoutes to start people off. I have 200 - 300 in my list now, and I deleted the pre-preogrammed ones before I ever used it. I collect them from all over the place - books, bumper stickers, music, websites, snagged from other people's email, etc. Anything that makes me smile, or resonates for me might end up in my Kookie Jar. I periodically og through it and delete the ones that no longer feel like a good " fit " . If you want to do some searching for .sig file quotes, a good, easy place to start is www.coolsig.com The .sig file generator/randomizer that I use can be found at http://www.lodz.pdi.net/~eristic/free/index.html Its freeware, and relatively easy to use. Just look for " Kookie Jar " Hope that helps........... -- Sherri A child of five could understand this!
