Guest guest
I've only been able to buy the loaf, and it's just fine. Like some on the list, I never had a problem with the taste or smell of meat. So, the meat substitutes don't bother me. One of my favorites is a veggie BLT (bacon, lettuce, and tomato) sandwich. Often when I tell my meat-eating friends that " so and so " tastes just like real meat, they usually laugh, disagree, and say, " How long's it been since you last tasted meat? " Hey, it tastes that way to me, and that's what matters for me. Dave Feral <terebinthus [terebinthus] Friday, January 03, 2003 11:13 AM Re: CSPI- thanks daveo Thanks for the answer to that question. Guest guest
LOL! I hear that one. Last summer, on a camping trip with friends, I took along some veggie sausage for one of our morning meals. Now mind you, I think it taste pretty much like I remember that meat stuff tasing like, but they sure didn't. However, I hardly feel like I am " settling for less " . I feel good, it tastes great to me, and I don't get that sick heavy feeling after eating as I recall having in my meat-days. BTW, I am in a mixed marriage; meaning my dh eats meat. Works for us alright. He actually doesn't eat much meat at all here unless he prepares it himself, and he enjoys my vegetarian cooking. He mostly eats that type of diet and feels healthier for it. BUT.... if I wasn't married and was looking for a life partner, I would be like you, and not consider a non-vegetarian. ~ Feral ~ The sages do not consider that making no mistakes is a blessing. They believe, rather, that the great virtue of man lies in his ability to correct his mistakes and continually make a new man of himself. - Wang Yang-Ming ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> , " daveo " <daveo@m...> wrote: > Often when I tell my meat-eating friends that " so and so " tastes just like > real meat, they usually laugh, disagree, and say, " How long's it been since > you last tasted meat? Guest guest
>>...if I wasn't married and was looking for a life partner, I would be like you, and not consider a non-vegetarian.<< Clearly, no one can predict if a relationship/marriage will last or not. Having been in more of them than I care to discuss--some quite successful, some pathetic failures, I've learned that people change over time--attitudes, feelings, and behaviors. I certainly have changed too. Likewise, choosing veggie partners is only one factor to be considered. If love really live in your heart and a partner suggests leaving, do you retain the relationship at all costs or lovingly wish them well and let them go?
