That is a shame. Clif Bars rule! When we have to travel or cannot

find veggie

foods, they are wonderful as a meal replacement. One of our stores

often

puts them on sale for 99 cents. I just love the carrot cake flavor.

My daughter

is fond of chocolate brownie.

I'd be happy to arrange a package for you. :)

They are so yummy and healthy. Here is the site, maybe you can find a

store

in your area where you can buy them. I learned about them thru a

health-nut

guy who is sponsored by them for mountain biking competitions.

Have you tried Luna bars? If so, which do you prefer.

I've never tried Clif but they're very abundant in my

area. I became addicted to Luna but will try the Clif

next time I'm at the market.

Warmly,

Allison

I have seen Luna bars before, but I don't think I have ever tried

them.

I was always too smitten by the clif bars.

Will have to give them a shot.

What is the best flavor, in your opinion?

All of the fruity flavors are wonderful...(Key lime,

lemon zest, tropical) but nutz over chocolate is

devine! Smores, etc. are great too (but nutz over

chocolate is my fav chocolate flavor).

***I bought some Clif bars today and will try them

this week. I chose one carrot cake and one apple

something or other.

Warmly,

Allison

>Clif Bars rule!

>>And we don't get Clif Bars which is a crime :P

Hi, all! New member here. Pretty faithful ovolacto for going-on 10 years, though

I've flirted with some pesco-pollo recently because my regimen for diabetes has

forced me to ration my carbs. I really don't want to eat flesh, tho, and after

so many years of not having to, my GI tract doesn't particularly like having to

deal with it--each recent foray into flesh has resulted in discomfort. So I'm

back to the comfortable familiarity of not asking any other creatures to die

just because I happen to want to taste their flesh.

I spent two years from 1999-2001 in Denver, less than an hour away from where

Clif Bars are made (namely, Boulder), and I depended on them heavily because I

was in school and they were easy to take to class. I have preferred the peanut

butter chocolate chip because of my chocolate addiction (which I'm now managing

more tightly) and because they have a closer protein-to-calorie ratio--14 g of

protein, I believe it is, about the highest of all the varieties of Clif Bars.

Both in the Rockies and here in central Ohio, Clif Bars can be bought for $0.99

on sales at regular grocery stores. I won't buy them unless I can find them at

that price (or less), but my politics have to bow to my pocketbook, so I don't

patronize indy stores just because they're indy, much as I'd like to.

Now that I've added carb rationing to my diet and am under orders not to eat

more than 60 g of carb at a time (pasta is one of my comfort foods, so it's easy

to go well beyond that), I don't eat Clif Bars as often because of their high

carb content--carb-wise, one Clif Bar is half a meal, and while they sustain me

in a pinch (such as a two-hour class), they don't hold me over for 4 hours

between meals. I use them for snacks now and to " legally " indulge my sweet

tooth... or, of course, in pinches.

Delighted to know about this list! I love the name!
