Guest guest
Gene: I briefly touched on doulaing...But I'm not sure you really got the picture. The money I could have made from teaching Childbirth Education classes and acting as doula was in the thousands. The time away from home was truly great. I finally gave it all up during my last pregnancy. I had morning sickness something awful...Threw up day and night. I had a client go into labor on the one day I felt the worst...And I had a two year old who needed me very much. Instead of bowing out of that birth...I scarfed ginger, put on my accupressure bands and drove to her house at 6:00 in the morning. We stayed at her house until 10:00 that night when her contractions were close enough to go to the birthing center. She had her baby at 7:30 the following morning. I stayed with her a couple hours after to make sure all was well and babe was latching well. Then drove, sleep deprived, pregnant and nauseous as hell for an over an hour to get back home...(she lived in a different town). Do the math. And that was just my last client. All for free. I paid for gas, I was away from my family for 24 hours, I had to pay for parking, etc. WHY? Because she couldn't afford anyone and I was the only person in it for the good of childbirth...NOt the money. Of course, those days are over...Once I become a Midwife I will charge...But do plan on doing at least three free births a year. YES, I'm so callous and self centered. Mail Plus - Powerful. Guest guest
Even someone who has been mislead by the fundamental flaws in the conservative reasoning; is still human and has the spark of beauty within them. No altruistic act is ever gone unnoticed; but thrown in someone's face, it becomes a pawn and degraded. If someone questions your kindness; you know yourself where that kindness lies, you dont need to prove it to anyone but the person you see in the mirror. However, reciting past acts to re-affirm a sense of altruism may mean that you are in a present state of denial towards harsh atitudes you hold now. I can expain in simple terms why the basis for all conservativism has a fundamental error; let's leave it for a nother day and think warmly of the kind acts both Gene and Allison know they would both do, regardless of differing opinions. -k- --- Allison Nations <allyanne2001 wrote: > Gene: > I briefly touched on doulaing...But I'm not sure you > really got the picture. Guest guest
I'm sorry. You responded to Allison's comments and I responded to both. Didn't mean to make such an implication. Guest guest
thats ok, we can do custom shirts. we kinda got into the shirt thing just as a fun thing for us to do, then we realized people liked our catchy phrases... so, if they want it, we can supply it, i guess. --- Allison Nations <allyanne2001 wrote: > I know a couple people that would like this. > None of them however are vegan, or vegetarian. > > > --- keith graves <sleepingtao wrote: > > Actually, i make them; wanna buy one?
