Guest guest Posted January 23, 2003 Report Share Posted January 23, 2003 We're all adults: we can moderate ourselves... we can exclude ourselves from any debate we don't want to be part of, and we can tolerate things we dont like, even if it is just enough to click the delete. Why don't we simply use the tried and true method... Post Headers in the subject: If you have the time and energy to make posts, it shouldnt be hard to give everyone a heads up as to what;s in your post, simply start your subject line with a code/label so those who want to stayt out of Political debates (PO) can stay out, those who want to take part in Dietary discussions (DI) can do so, and those who want to share recipes (RE) can ignore everything except the posts headed with RE. Something new or that doesnt fit any of the three main ones can be a 'Comment' (CO) and start a whole new thread... and we can add if we need to. This is just an idea, for us to be respectful and honour what other people want and dont want from the list, we can all take the time to give them a heads up:) PO- Politics DI- Diets/Nutrition RE- Recipes CO- Other/New Thread Remember, anarchy is absolute horrifying chaos, no one has the skill to organize themselves peacefully in a way where everyone is happy... we need the government and big corporations and beauracracy to do that, or we'd all be eating each other's children and wearing our pants on our heads. But you are right, we are adults, and if the kids who are on this board are reading the posts, well, just remember how much you all like Ozzy and he f-ing bleep bleeps once in a while too. All is well. We can have chaos and still share recipes, food prep tips and encouragement. Like I stated yesterday, though perhaps I was too subtle, we can be the change we wish to see. If more recipes are wanted here, then post recipes. If you want more food prep tips and ideas, then ask those questions etc. I will not be this group's evil dictator.
