Guest guest
Tax breaks! Yeah. **********Here's what the tax dollars are going towards:*********************** $1.2 billion going towards research for hydrogen fueled cars. Use $15 billion for this cause to treat AIDS victims all over Africa and Carribean. Project Bio Shield*** quick availability of vaccinations against biological warfare. $6 billion project. Guest guest
Did he happen to mention anything specifically about NASA and funding being directed towards research and Mars exploration? Just curious. I was listening to Coast to Coast radio last night and Richard C. Hoagland was blathering on about that. I really don't like his voice; more of a high pitch whiney sound. *lol* At least he is interesting, so it makes up his lack of pleasant sound quality I suppose. I didn't listen to this address tonight by the President. One thng I rather liked about Clinton more than this bloke is the fact that he held more press conferences. Bush seems too tight lipped and secretive. Must be his Skull and Bones upbringing. Okay... I'll stop being a political marmot. *lol* ~ P_T ~ Beware the flatterer: He feeds you with an empty spoon. ~ Cosino De Gregrio ~~~~*~~~*~~~~*~~~*~~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> , Allison Nations < allyanne2001> wrote: > Tax breaks! Guest guest
no, but at least the prez's speech gives something to do my course project proposal on for my class (rhetoric & speech studies). :-) Good thing becuase I haven't even started on it yet, & i have the rest of tonight & a few hours tomorrow morning to finish it. I work then go directly to class. Megan
Guest guest
Maybe manure....? If it can blow up buildings it's got some power to it. Everyone could own their own cow or horse and have a fresh supply of fuel. LOL!
Guest guest
I agree...Clinton definitely loved being on camera and getting in touch with his peeps. I did not hear anything about the NASA exploration. I don't think that was covered. Most of it, after the budgets for what I listed, was talk about the war. It really was a moving speech and I was surprised. He covered on some social issues, besides the war, that I was going to post but then decided against. No need throwing those out for discussion, LOL. Guest guest
Hydrogen powered cars?...only in his dreams. Sure it's doable but why? Here's an article on a related subject...globally running out of gasoline. http://www.pegasuscom.com/aar/model.html (the full article is here) At Any Rate by Bill Harris Model 5, January 2003 Out of Gas: A Systems Perspective on Potential Petroleum-Fuel Depletion " It's 2:30 in the afternoon on June 18, 2050, and the streets outside my downtown apartment are quiet. At the turn of the century, as I was a kid, I would have been bothered by the noise of traffic. Even in 2010, the year before things started going bad, traffic would have been a big deal, for I was then commuting daily and griping about the congested streets and highways. " Today, all I see are a few people on bikes, others on foot, and one or two rich people on the Segway Human Transporter. Oh, you still see cars everywhere; it's just that none of them run anymore. There's precious little gasoline to be had on the open market. Most cars are parked in driveways and garages, but some were just left on the side of the road when they ran out of gas; the law said it was illegal to waste gas to tow them away. " What happened? " you ask... " Later in the article, you'll read... " This story is obviously a fantasy-or perhaps a nightmare. Will it be our future? Likely not, for few predictions come true exactly as they are made, and we certainly don't wish this one on ourselves or our descendents. But the potential depletion of petroleum-based fuels is in the news again,... " Even further in the article, you'll find all the necessary computer code and everything else you will need to rerun and duplicate the results of this computer simulation. If you get this far, try your own " what if " scenarios to see what you can make work that will be better than this researcher. Also, there is ample evidence to convince me that " the Bush family " has much to gain financially from the flag waving exploits of this barely articulate president.
