Pesky rules

I would be remiss if I didn't post the newest rule for our group

here. Recent

events have shown it is needed, in my opinion, and I think it will

help keep a

level of peace and pleasant exchange here.

 

This is the recent one added that goes out automatically to every

listmember

upon joining, along with the previous 2 that all of you have seen. I

think most

of you will appreciate the addition of this rule:

 

#3. No flamming, swearing, name calling or harassment of other list

members. If you choose to debate a topic, do so in an intelligent

rational

manner. If I feel you are getting out of hand, I will warn you

offlist then place

you on moderation. If you continue in like manner, you will be

removed from

the group with no further warning. It is my wish that we treat

eachother with

kindness and respect.

I think you should tweak it as to add 'the moderator

has the right to boot anyone she damn well feels like

if she thinks they are out of line.'

 

I mean, I trust your judgement, at least, so far

you've been extremely fair and forgiving.

Hey, I'm just glad that person is now gone. I was really worried

upon joining this group and seeing 65% of the posts being that

particular entity's flaming anarchist propaganda. You know, what

gets me is that I bet he pays his taxes (ah, if he's OLD enough to

have taxes going on.) Now, Thoreau, he had a right to stand his

ground and act against the government; he stuck to his guns and got

thrown in jail for his belief that the government was acting

wrongly. But somebody who spends all their time preaching their anti-

whatever babble about non-related issues AN INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD,

while going through life submissive to the very system he so readily

preaches about... jeez.

You know, I WAS very confused upon seeing all that anarchist bs when

I first logged in, too... I was just kind like, " hmm.. must be a

variety of extremists here? I dunno... "

Hey, I don't like the government either, but it could be much, MUCH

worse. Regardless, I'm not about to get on my soapbox and talk

endlessly about it in a harsh, yet irrational, manner.
