Guest guest
I was wondering what the difference is. I'd like to start shopping at one, but it's a 30 minute drive. NO big deal, except my mom has to drive me! Anyways...What can you find there, and what should I know before I start shopping there. I want to be a vegan, and I'm starting to like stay away from dairy...the only hard thing is cheese. I love cheese, I'm sorry, but I do. I tried soy cheese once, and it was just as good. Soy cheese is vegan, right? I'm still scared about the whole stomache lining of a cow thing...it just disgusts me. Do they sell frozen meals at these places that are vegetarian or vegan? That's my biggest problem, I'm incredibly lazy! If I'm tired, the last thing I want to do is stand in front of a stove. ~Sara
Guest guest
Here's a link to a bit longer list of " vegan and vegetarian cheeses " by brand names than was posted in the past. http://www.vnv.org.au/Products.htm Surely you'll find something for your tastes here. Guest guest
you have to join co-ops. depending on how big your regular supermarkets are, you might be able to find soymilk / veggie burgers for cheaper than a natural foods store, it just is less likely to be organic... personally i hate the soymilk brand " silk " it's bitter, but it seems to be the most popular. most soy cheese is NOT vegan, it often contains a milk protein called " casein " . but i have bought some vegan rice cheese at whole foods market. you can get vegan frozen dinners but they're usually very expensive. i think veggie burgers are a better deal, but i judge my food based on how much protein's in it, not necessarily how filling it is. you can also get rice / beans mixes for pretty cheap.. what about good ole peanut butter? pasta mixes. if you want to be vegan, you always have to check ingredients because LOTS of veggie burgers and such have dairy / egg whites in them... so i hope this was of some help. super dave...
