OT - Cell phone opinions?

Any of you own a Motorola 120T or C331T? Do you have a favorable or

unfavorable opinion on them? Any comments would be appreciated. I am

trying to choose from these two phones because they are my favorite price at

the moment, free. Thanks all.

p.s. Whatever happened to all the talk about cell phones and health

concerns? I wonder if better technology have ruled these issues out, or fat

cat corps. have been shelling out some hush money.

Cheers,

Shawn

I don't own any cell phones and i hope i never do. there is lots of

recent reserach out there which suggests they may increase risk of

brain cancer. if you really *need* a cell phone, make sure you check

the radiation levels- sometimes cell phones come have it listed in

the box, you can ask the salesperson if you can check. otherwise i'm

sure there are websites that will tell you. but i do know motorola

is a BAD company. i saw a recent documentary on land mines in

cambodia / surrounding countries- many of the civilians have been

killed or had limbs blown off by landmines... they live in constant

fear of mines as they search for food and even though there's lots of

people working to disarm them, it will take many years- if new ones

ever stop being planted, that is. one of the critical parts of these

mines is manufactured by motorola. so i personally have strong moral

objections to them.

as for your p.s. i'm guessing it's a combination. they have

developed models with lower radiation as well as hands free models

which might be safer. but the research is largely inconclusive- cell

phones are still relatively new so it is very hard to know the long

term effects. some of the research was done on mice, which besides

being morally reprehensible, may or may not transalate similarly to

humans.

hope this of some help, super dave

Hey SuperDave, thanks for the advice. As far as the corps. go, I think of

it as Six degrees of separation. Even if this corp. didn't sell it to them

than they supplied a part or a plan or plain just participated in the

corruption somewhere down the line.

It's amazing how we complain about traffic (even kill each other over it)

everyday, and these people sigh after every step they take.

And the hands-free set is a good alternative for using the phone even when

not driving. People, just make sure you don't put the phone in your lap!

Cheers,

Shawn
