Guns don't kill people, bullets do

I like your six degrees of separation analogy, Shawn. and take any

intro business class, and i'm sure they'll tell you repeatedly " know

your customer " . how could a major corporation manufacture explosive

detonation devices and not have the faintest idea who they were going

to? bombs, like guns, have one purpose, to kill. according to the

all-or-nothing logic SOME of the opposers of gun control, it's just

the criminals that are dangerous " Guns don't kill people, people kill

people " . obviously if the cambodian government were buying motorola

phones and turning them into bombs, it wouldn't be Motorola's fault.

I'm also boycotting the company GE, because they manufacture jet

fighter engines. My gf actually went to school with a child of the

CEO of GE. when she asked him if he knew about it, his only response

was, war stimulates the economy! go figure. Does anyone know of any

other major companies which manufacture weaponry?

GE, huh?

Let's see they also make TVs, VCRs, phones, refrigerators, light bulbs,

locomotives, and toaster ovens to name just a few of 586 consumer products

they put their name on. Which of them would you like to live without or pay

more for?

Will it be only primary manufacturers of weapons, or do you want an

extensive list of everybody who ever touched the product, subassembly,

circuit board, component, or raw material that went into that weapon? So,

how long of a list do you really want?

manufacture these items, probably for cheaper, too.

do. unfortunately there are certain industries which are more or less

monopolies.. for instance, it would be tough to boycott microsoft if

you need to use a computer. but for companies with an alternative,

it would be good to boycott.

I'll bet that GE with it's vast, deep pockets produces " some products " that

no one else does? Did I mention prenatal imaging equipment and GE domes on

sports stadiums.

Only 576 more to go...

Check out " Red Hat " for your next PC operating system.

Boy...it's terrible when the " ethics of consumerism " gets in the way of the

" ethics of a good boycott. " Don't you just hate that!!

any time soon.. but yeah, i get the point. still there's no reason

for me to personally buy their products.
