Guest guest
I have an older, small model Cuisinart food processor (maybe 4-5 cup), and I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love having one. I hate that the base and the top can be very hard for me to torque on and off sometimes -- my joints aren't getting any younger, and it's very hard on them (sometimes makes me say bad words). I even tried spraying it with olive oil, but much to my surprise that didn't seem to help. So... I went out on the web looking. Looks to me like the Cuisinarts still work the same way -- so am I the only one who's had this problem? I looked at Consumer Reports and they liked the Cuisinart and the Kitchenaid. They said the 7-cup model of Kitchenaid had been recalled, though. *sigh* Does anyone have a Kitchenaid and are they hard or easy to assemble and disassemble? I make up HUGE recipes of parrot food with it (fills my whole big kitchen sink) from time to time... my other use of it is light. It would be nice to have one a bit bigger than the one I've got, but I don't want to buy and then be unhappy (they're not cheap). Any advice? Guest guest
My aunt bought me a Black & Decker 8 cup one for Xmas a few years ago and it's working for me beautifully. I also have a 1-1/2 c. magic chef food processor I use for small batches & small chopping (usually single serving stuff, or smoothies). I have a blue front and a cockatiel. I used to pet sit for a guy that raised birds and he made his own food and it looked good enough to eat. He made it in huge batches too but he had alot of birds. Second, I have a food processor that Sears makes, mine is sort of old too but it works fine and it's easy to work with and was cheaper than the popular brands.
