Guest guest
Hey gang. I am looking for scratching post plans/designs/blueprints to build for some feral cats. I've googled a few (1 from peta), but I am looking for more that might be out there or that you guys might have. Thanks for any advice. Guest guest
You are going to build scratching posts for wild cats? That is pretty nice of you. I wish I had some plans for you. Guest guest
Here are some websites which might help (although you may have already seen them in your search): http://feline-furniture.tripod.com/#diy - offers: Do it yourself Cat Tree Plans Instructions for building a cat scratching post Instructions for building a huge cat climber More cat scratching post instructions Some insights on building a cat play tower These folks made a cool cat climbing gym ladder Not all of the pictures work, though. http://www.catsinternational.org/9_3.html - has a very simple one but without pictures. Whether these are suitable for outdoors, probably depends on the materials used. Guest guest
My Mother's sense of guilt has started a somewhat feral cat community. It started with a pregnant gato and has since expanded. The 3 now fixed kittens since have become her adopted not-so-feral/indoor/outdoor/looking for new owner cats (I think). So, lol, it's not like I am going to build one and throw it into the woods. Her little community has grown to 8 regulars *double sighs*. She has gotten 3 fixed and is getting the rest done tomorrow. She has already adopted one out and may have another taker on the way. One kitten actually will play fetch. Throw a piece of wadded up paper across the room and she will fetch it, bring it back to you, drop it and stand in between your legs ready for the next fetch.....any takers? You will never see a fatter bunch of spoiled feral cats in your entire life, LOL. Anyway ~P_T~ , yes I do have homeless cats around here, but the purrers I speak of are on the other side of town. Guest guest
Thanks Lee-Gwen. Those were the first 2 sites I found a few days ago. Half the sites on the first link either have corrupted images or the html is listing the pictures in the wrong folder, so no images. The second link does actually have 2 images as a reference. " who, actually, would not be pampering feral cats " It's not a matter of pampering, it's a matter of getting them ready to be adopted out. Read my response to ~PT~. Thanks fer da google though. Yes, I figured that they might be after I had found them - but I thought it was better to post it than not. I might dig a little deeper and see if I can find anything better. > It's not a matter of pampering, it's a matter of getting them ready to be > adopted out Yes, so I now see. A good and honourable undertaking, it seems. Lee-Gwen
