Guest guest
--surely don't see any down here, even were one would imagine in a Zen group I was one time in, abandoned for lack of funds, they were open to it, admiring it. I live in S. Florida and most people 90% I meet are extremely untolerable to anything vegetarian and the people are extremely materialistic. I am very lucky to have a son, 12 completely vegetarian out of his choice. I let everyone do what they want. He even likes the same music. I joined this group, because of the untolerable steak and potato people around and it is nice to read others that feel this way. They also detest books and any form of art--sometimes I wonder if me and my son are from another planet????
Guest guest
Although it doesn't always look that way, you'll find this group much friendler to your veggie tastes than the crowd you described. Also, books and art abound here--just ask anybody. ;-) Dave Adrien <adriens_mandolin [adriens_mandolin] >>...I joined this group, because of the untolerable steak and potato people around and it is nice to read others that feel this way. Guest guest
Maybe you're in the wrong part of FL? I'm in Sarasota and it is quite friendly around here. I get questions and odd looks at first from many, but they are more curious than anything. I have not met outright intolerance. We also have a fabulous library, concerts, opera, theater, visual arts, and Buddhists. We have our materialistic folks, but there are also tons of very loving and giving folks. I guess we're pretty lucky Kris --- " Adrien <adriens_mandolin " <adriens_mandolin wrote: > --surely don't see any down here, even were one would imagine in a > Zen group I was one time in, abandoned for lack of funds, they were > open to it, admiring it. Guest guest
Hi! Not many vegetarians around here either, which is one reason I was pleased to join this group ;=) You'll enjoy the chat here, I think - and we'll even let you read what you like and look at as many paintings as you can ;=) (Not much of that around here, either. But I'm a little north of you.) Look forward to chatting sometime ;=) best, pat sant -- SANTBROWN townhounds/ http://www.angelfire.com/art/pendragon/ ---------- * " Until he extends the circle of compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace.
