All outsiders know about Rastafarians is ganja, dreadlocks, and reggae.

Um...not exactly, at least not this 'outsider'. I knew a bit

more than that, but the dietary aspect was new to me.

yes, one of the cornerstones of the ras tafari sect is nutritional well-being

and holistic medicine. the kosher diet should be a no-brainer as ras tafarians

see themselves as biblical jews. in addition, however, stong emphasis is placed

upon vegetarianism.

Well, yeah, it makes sense to me now, and I can be a bit

of a 'no-brainer' at times. *lol*

 

Everything I have read on the subject suggested that they

weren't full vegetarians, since they eat fish.... I call that

pescatarian since one of our members here gave that title

to that diet. Seemed to make more sense to me than the

one they listed in a TIME magazine article where they labeled

folks who eat fish (but no other meat) as pesco-vegetarians.

If you can get fish from clean water sources that aren't polluted

by men and livestock run-off, that would be a very healthy

way to live. :)
