Slow Cooker Cottage Potatoes

 

Recipe By :Adapted From Fix-It and Forget-It Cookbook, Dawn J. Ranch &

Phyllis Pellman Good

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

2 pounds frozen hash brown potatoes

1 pint sour cream

1 10.75 oz can cream of mushroom soup

1 dash pepper

2 cups Velveeta -- cubed

1/2 cup chopped onions

3/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

 

Combine all ingredients except potatoes in large bowl. Then fold in potatoes.

Spoon into slow cooker.

 

Cover and cook on high for 1 1/2 hours and then on low for 2 1/2 hours.

Do you think it would work to substitute some other kind of cheese (cheddar, for

instance) for the Velveeta? The Velveeta has a creamy consistency that the

other cheeses don't have...but I don't like Velveeta.
