Fia's Favorite Pasta Sauce

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

4 28 oz cans Italian-style plum tomatoes -- coarsely chopped, with

juice

1 cup red wine

1/2 cup olive oil

1/4 cup freshly chopped parsley or 2 tbsp. dried

4 cloves garlic -- minced

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1 teaspoon dried oregano

8 fresh basil leaves or 1 tsp. dried

1 teaspoon black pepper

hot cooked pasta

Parmesan cheese

 

In slow cooker, combine tomatoes (with juice), wine, olive oil, parsley, garlic,

salt, red pepper flakes, oregano, basil, and pepper.

 

Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or on high for 4 to 6 hours, until sauce

is hot and bubbling.

 

Serve over hot cooked pasta and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
