Guest guest
Peter Jennings is intermittently struggling not to weep, and I know just exactly how he feels. I know of only one useful response besides prayer, and it's the one suggested by the Red Cross: GIVE BLOOD. If you've ever even thought about it, PLEASE DO IT NOW, TODAY; it's just a few seconds' trivial sting and a little time. Ask your boss if you can get off work to give; on a day like today, s/he might well give people time. All the centers here in Louisville are earmarking ALL blood given today for New York and DC, and I suspect centers elsewhere are doing the same. They won't take mine anymore, but I can send others. Please, if you're healthy, just go. Right now. Don't think about it; just go put your shoes on and grab your keys. And if you can't go yourself, please, forward this to others and post it to lists until about Thursday or Friday (9/13 or 9/14). May the Creator keep us all. The reason is because they have enough for the present, and because blood is perishable, what's given now that can't be used now will be wasted. Once you've given it you won't be able to give more for a specific time period, a month, I believe, which means that blood that could be used later won't be there when it's needed. Please do call and find out when they will need more and give it then, because it will be needed in the coming week(s). The number is 1-800-GIV-LIFE. Guest guest
I believe its two months before you can give it again. I will allow OT posts through Friday. Please return to on topic posts after that. Thank you and best wishes to you all.
