Guest guest
Just a thought: how many of you here would enjoy a list for canned-fish recipes (tuna, mackerel, salmon, sardines, kipper snacks, etc.), and how many would actually post recipes to such a list if there were one? Please let me know OFFLIST if you'd be interested; I'm thinking about starting one, either here or on Smartgroups. Rain @@@@ \\\\\\ ______________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Guest guest
hello rain since this is a vegetarian list, your post might be more appropriate for another forum. perhaps you will have more success on one of the non-veg recipe lists. vegetarians don't eat canned fish. btw, yes i know there are non-veg people here but it *is* for vegetarian meals best wishes, snow , raincrone@j... wrote: > Just a thought: how many of you here would enjoy a list for canned- fish > recipes (tuna, mackerel, salmon, sardines, > kipper snacks, etc.), and how many would actually post recipes to such a > list if there were one? Guest guest
Rain please don't leave. Not all of us are offended by your comments. I agree with your writings and appreciate people for who they are, not what they choose to eat. We have far more pressing problems than to jump on the bandwagon over food choices. So please lets not get bent all out of shape over one little post that had no harm intended. Can we just go back to recipes and if you are interested in what Rain had to offer you can email her off list and if not just hit the delete. It's so simple, why make it an issue? Guest guest
>you will have more success on one of the > non-veg recipe lists. vegetarians don't eat canned fish. Actually, some of us do. We're called pesco-vegetarians, and UN stats say we're about as numerous in the world as non-pesco vegetarians. (And please, with the greatest respect, I would appreciate not getting replies from folks telling me we're not " real " vegetarians or shouldn't call ourselves that; most Asian and a fair number of Mediterranean vegetarians would disagree with you, as do I [and Andrew Weil, for what it's worth], and you're just not going to convince us. Peace be upon both sides of the argument.) I don't post fish recipes here because I'm aware they'd be controversial; I was just asking who'd be interested in having a place for them elsewhere. If you're not, that's certainly your right, but I've heard from some folks here who are. <grin> Rain @@@@ \\\\\\ ______________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Guest guest
i agree it wasn't the most appropriate post, regardless of how many pseudo-vegetarians there are in the world or on this list. -- On Sun, 14 Oct 2001 17:35:22 snowtree wrote: >hello rain > >since this is a vegetarian list, your post might be more appropriate >for another forum. perhaps you will have more success on one of the >non-veg recipe lists. vegetarians don't eat canned fish. btw, yes i >know there are non-veg people here but it *is* for vegetarian meals > >best wishes, >snow Make a difference, help support the relief efforts in the U.S. http://clubs.lycos.com/live/events/september11.asp

I wasn't rude to you, and am unsure why you feel a need to be to me. I wish you nothing but peace and happiness; I ask for nothing but the right to pursue my own choices in equal peace. Please, why are some of you so set on getting in the face of anyone who doesn't share your choices or labels? Why is it so urgent to be right, even at the expense of common courtesy? Oh well. Since it seems I have given offense without meaning to, I will . Rain, wishing people could all just get off each other's backs about food choices, and about and what to call them @@@@ \\\\\\ ______________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Guest guest
my goodness. rain and robin et al.. i had no wish to give offense. my post suggesting another list was just that, a suggestion. i was neither annoyed by the post nor in my opinon, rude. i just felt that on another list the post might receive a better and more accurate response. i am also well aware of pesco-vegetarians. i dont remember making any kind of deragotory comment about anybodys choices! rain and everybody i have really enjoyed the recipes. we all really do have better things to worry about. i was trying to be helpful one thing ive noticed about many of my fellow veggies - yall are just way too sensitive. im off the list as of now so if you wish to reply, you will be talkin to yourself! best wishes and happy cooking! peace snow , rwhitt1212@a... wrote: > Rain please don't leave.
