Guest guest
Hello Everyone: I don't' have a crockpot yet but joined to see if I could get compile enough recipes to warrant buying one. Even though I am only an aspiring vegetarian I really only want to include veg recipes. I hate to cook and have three kids. One is only 9 months and she can put a wrench into supper prep time. Figured a crock-pot might make it easier to throw things in when it is convenient and then just let it cook. Trying to determine how often I might realistically use a crockpot. Anyway just wondering how often you all use your crock pots to create vegetarian meals, once...twice....three times a week??? Thanks Lisa
Guest guest
Lisa--There are TONS of crockpot cookbooks out there for vegetarian, vegan, and non-veg meals. The crockpot is a GODSEND for busy moms! I should use mine much more than I do, but I do use it about 2-4X/month. Highly, highly recommended! Guest guest
I'm a single mom to two children -- work full-time and am finishing my MBA -- so cooking takes a back seat at our house. I cook two soups on the weekend in my crockpot and then freeze some and refrigerate some and use those for the nights when not even a PB & J is possible. My family (kids and mother) finds the vegetables overcooked . . . . but I guess I just need to refine my process a bit. Holly
Guest guest
At LEAST three times a week if not more! It's an absolute lifesaver!
Guest guest
Hey Lisa I use my crockpot about once a week during the winter, and about three times a week during the summer. (It keeps the house cooler) It's always in use during the Holidays when folks drop by just any old time to visit. I make stew/soup type bean/grain/vegetable dishes and freeze the leftovers in individual portion containers for quick re-heat in the MW. With two kids in sports and music and Scouts and me working outside the home 40 hours a week, this is the best way to eat healthy, cheap, and veg!
