We are not vegetarian but are interested in eating a lot more meatless

meals, for both the health and financial benefits.

Every year when green beens and new potatoes come into the markets we love to

stew them together in the crockpop with a little ham for seasoning.  What can

you suggest I use for seasoning instead of the ham?

You can use a little bit of liquid smoke instead.

You should be able to find it in the grocedry store. It's by the

Kitchen Bouquest, sometimes in the spice isle or even in the area with

ketchup and BBQ sauce.

You could use Worthington Meatless Wham Vegetable Protein Slices, diced up in

it.

http://www.kelloggs.com/cgi-bin/brandpages/product.pl?product=401 & company=41

Or Bakon Hickory Seasoning - which gives it a hickory smoke type flavor,

similiar to what you are looking for.

http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/bakon-yeast-natural-hickory-style-seasoning-24.7\

-ozs.

To order Bakon Seasoning or any of these wonderful all vegetarian products and

get a special campmeeting sales price(this is a once a year deal that saves you

lots) look at pages 5 & 6 of this

http://www.pacificpress.com/pp/spl/content/abc/cur/NV_UTcamp.pdf

and call the phone # and order it over the phone and they will give you these

savings and mail it directly to your home. You can order it from any

www.adventistbookcenter.com store. To find a store near you, in case you would

rather pop in to one of them and also buy their frozen products, click on the

store locator on the side bar. While each of these store have wonderful health

food stores in them, the health food products are not listed on their website,

so look at the pdf file above to see all they carry and be prepared to feel

blessed to have so many products available to you, no matter where you live.

Enjoy,

Judy

My favorite way to cook Pole beans or green beans with new potatoes, is to boil

them together in water, seasoned with some Ms. Dash and salt. It is wonderful.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Liquid Smoke is not a favorite flavor of mine.  I have a bottle from long ago

that I should probably get rid of.  The Mrs. Dash suggestion got me to thinking

that I have several flavors of that so I'll probably try that avenue the next

time. Thanks again.

Now that sounds good!

I don't use credit cards (yes, I know that's odd but I've never had one and have

no plans to ever have one) so I don't order over the internet, but I have a list

of the stores that carry it in the towns around here and I'll look for ir when

I'm in one of those places.

Thank you.
