Guest guest
I am new here and happy to plan for the crock pot. I will be really ready for the fall/winter cooking in AZ. Might try the C.P. recipes in OR, as we escape the summer of AZ heat! There are some cool times here. Hurrah! Not trying to go off on a tangent, right off the bat... but...I wonder if I can't use my rice cooker for things that need less cooking time? I don't have my crock pot here. But I could search in the thrift stores, my favorite thing to do! [i found a rice cooker and small G. Forman grill, for the veg/cheese panini.] If anyone has suggestions for the BEST in meatless sausage and hot dogs, please give me some advise. [:-s] The one's I tried, seem to have a fake smoked flavor, that is not what I am looking for. Bleah! No more negatives! Bring on the veggies. [)] I liked the Jambalya in the Kelloggs, site. Guest guest
Upton's Naturals make Italian Sausage and Chorizo crumbles out of seitan than are phenominal. I don't know if they will ship outside of the area. I am in Chicago and they are in a close suburb. http://uptonsnaturals.com/index.html --- On Thu, 6/19/08, Barbara Kipper <Kipper38 wrote: Barbara Kipper <Kipper38 New here, happy to plan for the crock pot! I love my crockpot, but we don't eat meat (do eat fish), and so many recipes call for meat, poultry, or 'cream of chicken' soup. I've tried everything sausage-wise that comes out; for making breakfast burritoes (we eat eggs) I mix in some Gimme Lean; otherwise, I like the Boca Burger breakfast sausage. - Kathrynne
