Hi, thought I would say hi too - I am Carolyn from Liverpool, veggie for about seven years, and always looking to get new recipes - although I often have a problem converting American recipes into their English counterparts - you have a lot more available than we do!

HI SUE!

welcome to our talkative group! I think it is wonderful that you are

supporting your daughter in this decision. You will find plenty of

wonderful tried and true vegetarian recipes in our files. Also, if

you are looking for something in particular... a recipe to substitute

for something else, or whatever.. speak up.. someone will find it for

you.. =)

Hi Phil and a belated welcome to our group! :-)

Congrats on your recent weight loss! Have you started using the Wii Fit yet? I

have been wanting to get one for my Wii system but since I am now unemployed, it

has fallen off the list for now.

Please tell us a little about yourself so we can know

you a bit better:

To get you started, why not tell us:

* your name or nickname

I'm Phil, short for Philippa. The pip112002 is what suggested when

I joined in 2001 as everything I tried was taken.

* where you live (continent, region or city, whatever)

I live in South Wales in the U.K.

* your age group - teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s,

70s, 80s or more (congratulations! )?

I'm 58, will be 59 in July this year.

Also:

* Are you vegetarian (or vegan), still working at

it, or still thinking about it?

I am vegetarian.

How long?

Around 20 years.

* Are you the only veggie or wannabe in your

household? How many others?

My 24 year old son is vegan, and eldest daughter of 35, who lives in her

own home now, is vegetarian, has been since she was 16.

* Do you do the cooking or is it shared?

I do most of it, hubby will throw a potato in the oven to bake and

prepares a nice salad, my son makes a lot of his meals.

I am also trying to lose weight. I had lost 2½ stone (35 pounds) just

over a year ago, but then underwent a major operation and chemotherapy,

and gained it all again. I've re-joined my slimming club ... Slimming

World, and to date have lost 8½ pounds. I am aiming to exercise more

and have bought the Wii Fit to go on my son's Nintendo Wii.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Terri. I live in the beautiful state of Colorado. Here is a

recepie for the crockpot I make. I kinda do it out of my head, Im one of

those kind :)...but here goes

1 sweet potato, peeled, cut into chunks

1 butternut squash, skin removed cut into chunks

1 onion

4 large carrots cut up

1 can coconut milk

1/2 cup raisins(I like to use 1 cup)

2 teaspoon cumin, or more to taste

1 teaspoon pepper

3 cloves fresh garlic chopped

1 tsp onion powder

1tsp garlic powder

Place all in Crockpot. Add water, should be below the top of ingredients.I

put this on in the morning, ready to eat at night.
