Hi! i'm Betz, and i'm 16. I live in MA. I've only been a vegetarian for a few years. I decided that if i'm not willing to go out and catch my dinner myself, (and i can't stand the idea of killing something... and then eating it...) then i shouldn't be eating it. So I've stopped eating all meat, but i still eat eggs and milk. But i've heard that cheese isn't always made with vegetarian-friendly stuff... can you help me? recipes that the rest of my carnivorus family can stomach are greatly appreciated.... thanks! ~~Bets Practice Safety, 80% of people are caused by accidents. ___________ Free email with personality! Guest guest
Hi Harriti! I'm a first year university student, in res, so I " m learning how to cook veggie dorm food... the one thing I found really helpful and super quick are the premade veggie patties. I really like the presidents choice lentil and bean patties. I don't know where you are, if presidents choice is even available there, but I'm sure some reasonable version must be out there! The patties are basically mushed up veggies, lentils and rice seasoned with curry. I prefer to panfry them, then just have the patty with rice or potatoes. They're not that expensive ($5 for a box of 6... well in Canada anyway) so I just keep them in the freezer. I haven't figured out how to make them myself yet, but I'll let you know if I do! Wow, thats enough rambling... I'll let you know if I think of anything else! Oh... if you're really concerned about not injesting animal products, be careful of a cafeteria veggie burger... they're cooked on the same grill as the meat and usually the grill isn't cleaned inbetween veggie and non-veggire cooking. Good luck.... I'm a month and a half in and not starving yet! Carrie Harriti Shah wrote: > Hi, um this is just basically an introduction to myself . . . Guest guest
Hello Harriti and Welcome! I do hope you don't mind if I ask you a personal question. Are a lot of Jains fruitarian? Since you mentioned your religion I am just curious. You are lucky to have been a vegetarian all your life. Would you tell me a little about your religion and your beliefs as far as vegetarianism is concerned? I am genuinely interested. It is always nice to learn about somebody else's culture, and I have never met a Jain before. Hope you are not offended by my asking. Pam.
