Guest guest Posted December 20, 2000 Report Share Posted December 20, 2000 The recipe for the orange chili reminded me of a suggestion that I had read just recently that cooks substitute oranges (which are in season during the winter) for tomatoes (which taste awful right now). Of course, I don't advocate making chili with orange juice instead of tomato sauce <LOL> but this is a good example of adding oranges rather than tomatoes to the recipe. Another suggestion that the article made was to use orange slices in green salads rather than tomatoes. I have tried it and found it rather ... interesting in a tossed veggie salad. The possibilities are endless.
