Jo i don't believe that marshmellow fluff has gelatin. i think its vegetarian, but not vegan. a recipe that uses caramel sounds really good, i'd love to find a vegan recipe for rice krispie squares!!! cherrie "What is man without beasts? If all beasts were gone, men would die from a great lonelinessof the spirit. For whatever happens to the beast, soon happens to man."~Chief Seattle~ I have a new webpage! check it out at:http://pages.ivillage.com/cl-opheliabug/opheliabugspage/ join my veggie icq active list! active list #73313964my icq number: 47113685 check out the ivillage Vegetarian Living board at: http://boards.allhealth.com/messages/get/bhvegetarian17.html

Guest guest
Try using a " Popcorn Ball " recipe. Add some dried fruit or slivered nuts for variety. Some recipes are simpler than others so, look at a few before starting. Here are some sites with recipes: http://www.ivu.org/recipes/northam/popcorn-j.html http://www.cookierecipe.com/AZ/OldTimePopcornBalls.asp http://www.freerecipe.org/Dessert/Candy/PopcornBal_hdcf.htm Enjoy ! Guest guest
Here are two recipes that you could substitute Rice Krispies for the main ingredient. CEREAL (Cheerios/Rice Krispies) BARS 1/2 cup maple syrup 1/2 cup peanut butter 3 1/2 cups cereal Optional: carob or vegan chocolate chips and/or chopped nuts and/or dried fruit bits. Mix together syrup and peanut butter. When mixture is smooth, add cereal, and stir to coat. You may also wish to embellish the recipe by adding a handful of carob or chocolate chips or chopped nuts or dried fruit. Press mixture into a lightly greased oblong pan, and let it cool. (You may need to refrigerate in order for it to harden.) When cool, cut into squares, and enjoy. Serves: about 24 squares Preparation time: 5-10 min. CANDIED POPCORN/RICE KRISPIES 1/4 cup of maple syrup 1 cup of popcorn/Rice Krispies Regarding a recipe for candied popcorn. We use maple syrup and cook it in a microwave. Put a 1/4 cup of maple syrup in a microwaveable bowl, and place approx. 1 cup of popcorn in. Set to hi and cook for 5 mins. After 5 mins remove bowl and dump uncooked popcorn out return bowl to microwave a nuke for another min approx. BE careful with the popcorn as it is very hot and will burn if you touch it. Do not cook longer than 5 min as it will burn the popcorn. OTHER GOOD TREAT RECIPES: http://members.nbci.com/book_archive/6a/sweets/01sw.html ENJOY !
