Guest guest
Hello all, I have a question for you. I am trying to get off of refined sugar drinks (i.e. soda, flavored waters, etc.) I went out and bought some Kool-Aid, but it calls for sugar. My question is, can i use sugar in the raw to sweeten the drink, or do you have any other suggestions for sweetening? I should also point out that I am a little leery of saccharine, and so i am reluctant to use NutraSweet or Equal. I would appreciate all suggestions and information. Thanks, Chris
Guest guest
Hi Chris, May I suggest if you are really serious about not drinking refined sugar drinks, just simply drink water, or flavored tea. Kool aid has lots of sugar, it will only make you crave for more, not off. The first few days your body might experience some withdraw it may cause you to feel bad, ie: headaches etc. but if you over come it you will kick the sugar habbit. good luck. Oh! and yes you can use raw sugar for sweetening, but it will not be very sweet like what you are used to. island girl >XClicheX > > > Kool-Aid Help >Tue, 12 Jun 2001 05:05:51 -0000 > >Hello all, > I have a question for you. Guest guest
Try fructose - ie. fruit sugar or stick to real fruit juice Vicky
Guest guest
We went on a 'water only' trial for 30 days. Now it is all we drink 90% of the time. We have a water cooler and frosty glasses and now everyone drinks at least 8 glasses a day, more like 10 or 15 and avoid all other beverages as much as possible. I still do my morning coffee of course LOL. It is amazing how much better you feel and you really do lose the taste for sweet things. Guest guest
I should mention that Stevia is a good, natural sweetner and it is really sweet. It also has an abundance of good stuff it does for you like lowers blood pressure and regulates body sugar, helps in weight loss etc. Give it a try. I teaspoon of stevia equals 1 cup of sugar. No only is the sugar in Kool-aid not good for you, that stuff is 100% chemical concoction, dyes, and other really yucky things. Not fit for anyones consumption, just the garbage pail.
