RE: for your friends still dragging their heels

Jacqueline,

I wish I could find it at the grocery store; so far I've only found the kind I use at the healthfood grocery store and it is expensive ($5.99). I put fat free soy milk in mine.

Next time I'm in Wally World I'll look for the kind you mentioned.

Blessings,

Karla B.

Karla,

This is good info for people who can't have caffeine, like me. I have Meniere's Disease and it is severely aggravated by caffeine or too much salt.

I make coffee, cappuchino & iced cappuchino using Caf Lib. I buy it at the grocery store or at Walmart. It is an instant roasted grain beverage with chicory. It tastes great with maple syrup as a sweetener (so does coffee).

Reading this stuff breaks my heart..but it re-inforces my choice to not eat

meat. I am considering sending it to all the meat eaters I know. Not sure

how to approach it.

I've heard about them Karla (from reading "being vegetarian for dummies" *ggg*), but I lurves my colombian right now! :-) I'm a smokey cafe-haunting poety type, so espresso & other horrifically caffeinated drinks are par for the course. *hehehe*

RE: for your friends still dragging their heels

Megan,

Just in case you are intrested in getting off caffine; have you tried some of the herbal "coffees"? I was a coffee drinker; my husband drinks coffee all day long at work.

The herbal coffees don't taste like coffee; at least not to me, but they are good. The one I'm trying now has a hint of carob taste to it. I like having a hot cup of coffee in the morning, and this has been a good substitute for me.

I hope this post doesn't offend anyone; it isn't meant to and I apologize if it does.

Blessings,

Karla B.

Sometimes I wonder

It's hard enough to have to deal with the misinterpretations of those who

don't believe i what i believe,

But I would think that our belonging to this list would make us of similar

mind, and we could feel free to discuss, (or not, and hit the delete key)

issues that typically affect vegetarians, such as animal rights and

attitudes of meat eaters.

I am also confused about this discussion of " tone " .

It's an e-mail folks, there's no eyebrows wiggling or lowered voices to

indicate that a " tone " would need to be taken into consideration.

I myself have found it very hard to be sarcastic on e-mail.

Anyway I just felt I needed to say that, now I have a dilemma

After a month of being very conscious of trying to go vegan, I have slipped

back sdown the dairy path and am starting to eat eggs again.

Maybe the stress of my past few months have made me want something " simpler "

or whatever.

But my stomach has started to hurt me terribly. I know it's my diet.

Could someone please send me quick vegan rcipes so I can get back on track?

i know that the road to veganism is tough, especially living with a meat

eater who thiks I'm nuts...but my stomach really hurts right now and I know

it's the egg and cheese sandwich I just ate

If you don't understand the tone of writing, then that's your problem.

Seriously.

There is tone. All writing has tone. Literature has tone. If it didn't what

would be the difference between Virginia Woolf and Danielle Steele or Tom

Clancy and James Joyce.

The written word can have tone, even if you're not good, what you're

thinking and what you're actually meaning can bleed through clear as day.

Oh please, listen I don't know HOW many times people have "thought" there was a sarcastic, harsh, or down right nasty tone to an email when there wasn't.

Why do you think so many people get into trouble when they trust people on the net?

This isn't a book nor is it literature.. it's people conversing.... and it is definetly hard to always understand the "tone" of a person's email. You don't know my personality and I don't know yours ..

It's all in your preception.

I wonder, do newspapers have tone? As a journalist *I* know that you are not supposed to write biased articles... that's written word.. wonder how the "tone" of the newspaper is..

I am sure that you are a great journalist dear, but this is not the forum

for it. May your fingers type gloriously over the keyboard, but may it be

only for the ingredients of a wonderful recipe that you would like to

share! May this list be abundant with Love and Kindness.Kendra
