Your lack of having children doesn't offend me, and neither does your cursing, I was be facetious.. but the "tone" wasn't taken correctly.

Why you'd think I'd be offended by your choice to not have children when I said I was PRO choice kinda baffles me.

Anywho... I posted quite a few recipes... think you'll try any of them?

I'm not "attacking" you. You gave your opinion on fertility and I gave mine. Point being that on the off chance my "cursing" or childfree lifestyle offends you, or other peoples' lifestyle offends me, then maybe we could stick to recipes and refrain from getting political.

Leading by example are you Preston? Your previous comment to Mary was

quite ignorant and hurtful so you have no right to complain about

anything anybody says anywhere. She has more class and compassion in

her little toe than you could ever dream of in your self serving

little ME, Me, Me world. Get over yourself.

Matt and Paula write: "Are you people out of your friggin' minds? This is a group for recipes! I don't give a damn what your reasons are for using a meat free diet. There are other groups available for you to whine and cry about abortion or eating bugs or what ever the hell you'd like. Grow up guys ...let's keep this on topic. "

I agree....... this is getting ridiculous...........I am just deleting all this nonsense! I am on several other e-groups, and this stupidity doesn't go on at all. Thinking of unsubscribing. Kendra

I don't see how it is hurtful. She made the statement that she WOULD be pro

life, except that her infertility (not my choice for her to share that with

the group, btw.) That offended me actually, especially considering my

personal worldview that the world needs less, not more people. I'm not

saying I have the high ground, but rather that I'm just responding to what

others are posting. I never posted but maybe 3 times until this came up, so

obviously I wasn't trying to start something.

Why is it about me me me? Because I don't want kids? Actually, a big part of

the reason I don't want kids is because I don't think it's right or

necessary for me to reproduce. That's why I don't see what I said to Mary as

hurtful. It's a fact of life. She can't reproduce. I know that in this day

and age that's a major tragedy and we absolutely MUST devote billions of

dollars to curing the scourge of infertility, but you'll have to excuse me

if I don't get all weepy over it. I have sleep apnea, I'm overweight (was

REALLY fat previously) and have my own health issues. I don't see what the

difference is, really. I have oodles of compassion. I just don't see

infertility as a major problem plaguing this world.

If that makes you think I'm not compassionate that's fine. I don't frankly

care. My point all along in responding has been to point out that we all

have greatly divergent points of view on politics. Thus bringing politics to

play in a FREAKING RECIPE mailing list is not very productive.

Don't . I'll stop and I'll if that's what it takes to end this. I was simply trying to point out how silly it was to bring politics into this, especially the politics of vegetarianism. Some vegetarians who are vegetarian for ethical reasons can be very rude and condescending and basically detrimental to the movement overall (especially when posting nauseating stuff like the post that started all this) in my opinion. I was trying to combat this and make the point that there was no place for that here. That this should be a place where the bottom line is vegetarian cooking, nothing more. I didn't politicize it. I didn't start it. But I will leave if that's what it takes to end this.

First off, she brought it up, not me. Secondly, I don't see why suggesting

adoption is cruel? What is so imperitive about having children? Seriously. I

don't see why it's a necessity to have your own children. Isn't raising

children about caring for someone, loving someone and raising them to be

good people? Does it really matter if it's your own? Can't it be as special

or more special if you take the hand dealt to you and adopt? I really don't

see why that's cruel to suggest that.

I don't see why it's important to talk about it. If you are happy with your

life go about it and have fun. We don't need to know every detail of your

life, we just need to know your quick vegetarian recipes!
