Guest guest
Strange I've only see one ad and that didn't cause me any grief. Rather liked it. What is the Activists list you speak of? Recipe: Fresh squeezed OJ 2 Med - Large Oranges 1 Juicer of your choice. Uses as Directed. loc1965 [loc1965] Tuesday, November 06, 2001 6:51 PM Call me crazy... Look, call me crazy but I thought this was a recipe list. What's with all the activism on here. I have no problem with activists but there are lists just for that. I became a vegetarian for health reasons, not for " saving the pig " reasons. Please can we get back to the subject of recipes? Lynn contact owner: -owner Mail list: Delivered-mailing list List-Un: - no flaming arguing or denigration of others allowed contact owner with complaints regarding posting/list or anything else. Thank you. please share/comment/inform and mostly enjoy this list

What a great line. My daughter, who is a vegetarian, is always telling me that she can look a cow in the eye. I have been gradually weaning myself from meat and so I now kind of look at cows sideways, guiltily, instead of totally averting my eyes like the days of old. :-) MaryL

Guest guest
Ok, I've got my flame proof suit on. So here goes... I'm not trying to save myself, I'm trying to help my family live a healthier life. I am so darned sick of all the " activism " I find on other recipe list and I was so happy that I seemed to have found one that didn't go there. I guess I was wrong. Maybe I should just buy a recipe book or two and be done with it. As for the pigs, how many of you wear leather -- dare I ask. What about your purses and wallets, are they leather? The interior of your car? Hmmm there is some food for thought. I found it amazing that a couple of years ago I was reading about a certain rock entertainer who showed up for a PETA benefit wearing leather pants. Well, nuff said. , MTLUCAI@C... wrote: > In a message dated 11/07/2001 7:20:32 PM Eastern Standard Time, > youngtoughblood11 writes: > > << i agree i thought this was a recipe list?but since you > opened your mouth how can you just save yourself and > not the pig? >> > > LOL! Guest guest
I sure hope you don't leave this group because of this. There are a lot of great recipes out there. However, if a person is a vegetarian, they will not wear leather. I have been a vegetarian for 15 years and no, nothing I wear is leather. There is no need to be nasty and defensive if you are not a true vegetarian. - <loc1965 Wednesday, November 07, 2001 8:20 PM Re: Call me crazy... > Ok, I've got my flame proof suit on. Guest guest
There is an old saying about opinions!! Yes, we all have them!!!!! I dearly love animals BUT.... I guess I will never be important enough to feel I have the right to impose my opinions on others or argue that mine are better for someone elses. I really enjoy sharing recipes and health tips. I am glad to belong to this site for THAT purpose. I hope we all respect others rights to believe as they choose. Thanks. Guest guest
I am totally with you Carol - we are all here for different reasons, none more valid than others. I love receiving the recipes and tips on cooking vege food, and there are lots of places I can go to discuss the pros and cons of a vegetarian lifestyle. " True vegetarian " ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????? I thought a vegetarian was someone who didn't eat meat and a VEGAN was someone that didn't partake in any animal products. I also thought this was a recipe list. For hells sake. Guest guest
Okay, for starters, I like these discussions but I'd be happy to start a new " vegetarian discussion group " or join one if someone can recommend one. Is there one out there on ? As for ME, I gave up meat for health reasons partially but the initial decision was based on my disgust at the horror and torture of the animals within the factory farming realm (especially bad in the US). I find the factory raising and killing of chicken and cows particularly disturbing. I have NOT given up dairy yet (cheese, anyway ... that's all I eat of dairy) ... but I will one day ... for both health and political reasons. I have come to believe that dairy is very bad for MY health (particularly my colon and my allergies). Leather: I am still wearing my leather belts and Birkenstocks. However, I am just " wearing them out " . I have made the decision to buy no NEW leather products once these are worn out. Unfortunately, the interior of my car is ALL leather ... but it's probably on it's last leg anyway. In short, though, I agree with you about this being a " recipe list " . I am very excited to discuss vegetarian topics somewhere else if someone can recommend a . If there isn't one, I'd be glad to start one! Let me know ... Thanks. Is there one out there on ? Hi all. Yes, there is at least one vegetarian discussion group on the web. It's Vege-Talk. For info - Vege-Talk I'm on the list and there have been some discussions, but unfortunately there really aren't alot of posts to the list. Maybe there are other groups with more discussion.....? Guest guest
AGAIN!!!! Why do we feel the need to IMPOSE ourr beliefs on each other??? Please share your good vegetarian and vegan recipes!!!!! Most of us appreciate them. Lets keep our opinions to ourselves!!!!! Why is my opinion more important than yours, or why should yours be pushed on me, either????? It always amazes me that one person should attempt to force their thoughts and ideas down someone elses throat. Who do we think we are anyway???????
