Guest guest
That's so true, ANY effort does make a difference. That's what keeps me going too. It's more than a lot of people (not the ones on this list) do. I don't like pepperoni so I don't have to worry about that, & I always get a veggie pizza. But I love meatloaf, meatballs etc. so I've adopted Gimme Lean's "ground beef". It's the best substitute I've had. It's really good. I can't find a ham substitute, it's just a harder taste to copy. I've tried about 3 kinds & they weren't any good. My dogs wouldn't even eat them. Donni Irschick wrote: I wasn't at all offended by your questions. I find it strange that anyone could be upset by meat analogues. I always loathed burger and hot dogs, so when Yves here began marketing veggie burger and hot dogs that tasted like beef, I was not a customer. They make a wonderful pepperoni that my meat-eater friends have adopted into their worlds. I have found somewhere that makes a chicken-like product that I love, and because I enjoyed chicken when I ate meat. Most of us come from meat-eating backgrounds. Some have aversions to anything that tastes like meat, some miss it. I found a great deal of peace in the EarthSave belief that ANY effort makes a difference. It allows me to be more accepting of myself and others, coming out of the meat-centred world. OK, enough blabbing. Any more great recipes? Guest guest
since I may have offended and caused certain judgemental's to leave this group, it is time I contribute. First, I am selfishly keeping all the recipes I like since I joined a week ago @ http://www.geocities.com/sterling3L/recipes.html a small website I update frequently. Feel free to check it and the rest of the site out. http://www.geocities.com/sterling3L/ Second, here is a contribution I have not seen posted yet. =================== Golden Macroons 1/2 c. water 1/2 c. honey 1 1/2 c. coconut 1/2 c. whole wheat flour 1/2 c. oats (blended first to pulverize a little) 1/2 t. salt 1 t. vanilla Mix well and let sit for ten minutes. Put by tablespoons on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 325 for 30 minutes. JoProut [JoProut] Friday, November 30, 2001 5:55 PM Re: RE: Hellooooo! Guest guest
Ok ok, I am a newbe here, but I will agree with Mesa, I don't understand where there was any dis-respect?? I have already found several recipes I am ready to try! Thanks All! And also, I have used TVP (total vegetable protein), looks like ground beef, but its veggie. It works great for taco's, and it's also good for things like chili or spagheti sauce! Hope this helps! > Beth ******************************************************************* > > But I'm outta here. I much prefer lists on which people respect others's > > beliefs.
