Hi - me again!

I joined the group a few days ago, so a quick word about me. Me and my chap

are not strictly veggie, but don't like meat that much and almost invariably

cook veggie at home. We're Brits, but are living in the tourist resort of

Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt, and the choice of veggie products here is almost

non-existent and there's not a lot of choice when eating out apart from

falafels and dips (and pizza of course!). There's a pretty good range of

basics though including fresh vegetables, but never fresh broccoli and I do

miss butternut squash :-(, and there's pulses, spices and tinned stuff , so

I'm looking for new ideas that don't use anything too fancy or branded

products.

I have a few recipes that I'll post when I get them typed in, but as I found

when writing up the chilli one, it's not easy to step through what you do!

I'm a 'throw in a bit of this and a bit of that' type when in the kitchen!!

Look forward to hearing from you...

Liz

It is fascinating to hear about the foods that are culturally eaten in

different pasts of the world. Pizza in Egypt?? Wow!!!

I know this is a list for quick cooking, but wondered if any of you

make your own meat substitutes from Vital Gluten Flour. I make it fairly

often and it freezes well so I make a big batch when I make it. I would

be glad to submit a recipe for that if anyone is interested.

Have a lovely day. Carol
