Guest guest
Also, don't forget to read the label of your sour cream. Unless organic all low or non-fat sour cream definitely has gelatin in it. I can get a non-organic brand (full fat) here, Daisy, which is pure cream, no other ingredients whatsoever. Which is funny because the " local " dairy Anderson Erickson has like 4 different ingredients in their regular sour cream. Why? Makes no sense. I only buy organic yoghurt because I have yet to find a regular kind without gelatin. I also stopped using Brummel & Brown yoghurt spread because it has gelatin in it. Guest guest
Yep, before becoming a vegetarian I was one of those people My ex and I didn't eat the healthiest. Lots or prepackaged, boxed foods. Yes, I used to eat Tuna Helper! However, since I was involved with a farmers' market, I did bring home fresh food a lot and try to incorporate that. We were never fast food people, which is some of the worst food people could eat. Now, I'm a label reading fanatic. Sometimes I make a conscious decision to buy something, as James is less concerned about things (like HFCS) than I am. I should try making dips, I never do. That might be a good way for me to munch on some veggies while I veg out in front of the tv on those occasions. Look forward to changin' up some of my Mexican cooking. I tend to making something Mexican every week; it's easy, full of protein and delicious. I could do with some tips on how much to use, things to use it in; not even sure how spicy it is. Thanks again, looking forward to trying a new spice! Denise , purplepassion <thelilacflower> wrote: > Hi Denise, when I make dips to serve I make sure it's Daisy. My husband is the same way, but when I explain to him why, he's better about it... but he does still get frustrated with me when he picks items up and I say no, not that it's got " whatever " in it.... OTOH, the other day he was helping my find a good bread and found " Bran for Life " , which has whole wheat flour, wheat bran, vital wheat gluten, malted barley, molasses, sea salt, yeast and safflower oil - he was so proud!!! :-) > I should try making dips, I never do. I eat small amounts often, so I need to eat more veggies during the day, but I don't like to have to cook everything... and you get bored with plain broccoli & carrots every day... I'm looking forward to more dip recipes! *dippyhugs* Amy
