Comepletely agree... OTOH, this is an argument meat eaters use on me

sometimes!

Not that this applies at all to your DH... but I know read somewhere

that " too much " green tea is bad if you're trying to conceive, or

during the first trimester, but I haven't been able to find *any*

info... or even the the original article. It was a scientific abstract

in a news article, and I was going to try to find more info.

well he is not trying to conceive, LOL, but my gut tells me it's bad. Just

seems to me if you want green tea drink some, but the pills, eh, I dunno,

doesn't sit right with me.

You mean meat eaters tell you a little of this and a little of that? well

tell em' that cholesterol is not good, and there is no meat that has no

cholesterol.

Like my mother doesn't want to go on lipator like her doctor wanted her to,

and so she says she will do it with diet. Well, she switched to egg beaters,

LOL, and that is that. She still eats red meat all of the time, and calls me

a whacko for " thinking the way I do " she feeds my 74 year old father stuffed

pig intestines and bacon and still calls me whacko.

grrrrrrrrr. Today she was harassing me for not eating crab and shrimp. She

went on, " what's wrong with those huh? you used to love them? what is wrong

with them? huh? " so I punched her in the face..... no just kidding, but I

said that what is wrong with that is we are torturing God's creatures and

it's horrible to take God's creature and stuff it in a pot of boiling water.

and she said, " oh for God's sake how whacky. "

LOL whatcha gonna do...oh, sorry for the rant ;oD

Yeah, I agree. But I'm trying, *lol* Granted, I don't take many

pills at all, and I hadn't intended on finding green tea pills, but I

just don't know how much was considered " too much " .

Sounds like she needs a copy of Dr. Ornish's program for reversing

heart disease, anonymously mailed to her! ;-)

*lol* You do have a way with words! My mom did that for a few years

before she decided I wasn't " in a phase " , which I did frequently as a

teenager. Now she just doesn't say anything, except to ask what I'll

eat when she's made whatever...

;-) Depends if she reads it or not! Apparently there's a " new " diet

out to, an amalgam of his, Dr. McDougall's and several others, by an

ordinary guy who changed his life (ie not a doc or nutritionist),

called the RAVE diet. Sounds pretty similar though.

Yes, my midwife had concerns that since I don't know the sex of the

baby, I shouldn't eat too much soy. There have been some studies to

show that soy can have detrimental effects on males. I don't know how

solid this research is, though, and there are so many other ways to

get complete proteins, that her concerns do not alarm me. Check out

this link for serving size and menu suggestions for a vegetarian

pregnancy diet:

http://www.pcrm.org/health/Info_on_Veg_Diets/pregnancy.html

Also, I don't know if any of this Round-Up Ready soy is used for human

consumption, I don't think it is. It's mostly a concern that they are

spraying round-up into the air and it is getting into our ground

source water and it DOESN'T bio-degrade as quickly as Monsanto makes

everyone believe.

I know lots of people who have had very healthy pregancies, births and

children by being vegetarian the whole way through. There are so many

more important nutrients you need besides protein, that eating a

vegetarian diet will give you.

How can our diets be any less than the pregnant women who live on fast

food? It's amazing the crap some women eat when they are pregnant and

they have healthy babies.

Were you a vegetarian before or after your twins were born?

Just curious because I am getting some flack from my mom. I have two

embryos left from invetro and Troy and I plan on using them after the

twins turn one. Mom has been urging me to eat m*t when I am pregnant

(if the IVF works). Troy and I are against that. That is part of the

reason this woman's thoughts struck a cord with me. Plus, I want to

make sure my girls are okay.

>

researching some of the arguements. It really saddens me to hear the

words " round up ready " from you, though. I need to find a web site

with protein requirements for the genders and make sure we get enough

from lots of sources.

well it wouldn't hurt to cut back on soy for a little while anyway just in

case. There are so many other goodies out there. :o)
