Guest guest
Hi Julie, You can use green lentils in place of the brown. Now red lentils turn very soupy fast. Go to the files and pick from these. Under Grain dishes there's a good lentil rice pilaf. Under the soup and stew area there a lentil creole soup, Morrocan Lentil Soup that Anne just posted and a lentil vegetable soup. If you really want to be creative try the rice dish folder and there is a recipe for Persian rice & lentils posted and it's awesome...............You can make a crockpot lentil stew also. Just rinse the lentils in your mesh strainer and pick out any bad ones and fill the crock 3/4 full of water or broth, add your seasonings and a can of stewed tomatoes along with chopped onion, garlic, celery and carrots but add salt towards the very end and if you want to hurry then make it on the stove. Hope this helped some. DonnaJulie Braswell <abnjb wrote: Ok,I bought a bag of lentils for my first time today. They are green lentils.
