Guest guest
Seaweed. Sea Vegetables are any plants that are edible that are grown in the sea. They are yummy and amazingly there is a vast variety of these plants. i recall watching a show on FoodTV once about a family in San Francisco that had a business harvesting, cleaning, drying and packaging them for sale in various healthfood stores and restaurants around the world. Guest guest
Thanks for the info:) I never thought much about eating Seaweed because it always sounded gross to me but of course I may try it and like it. I saw the other message posted here by someone else saying sea vegetables are an aquired taste so I can only imagine what they taste like. I still may try them anyway out of curiousity. I'm always up for trying things at least once. Noel Message: 4 Wed, 02 Jun 2004 17:03:44 -0000 " Feral " <terebinthus Re: Sea Vegetables Seaweed. Guest guest
I believe kelp is worse than dulse. Just be careful where you get it from and call the manufactures (not the seller or distributor) and ask them about their procedure. Also Google around with keywords like heavy metals...dulse...kelp.mercury and you'll see what's out there. Also remember the famous saying.when in doubt.DON'T!! wiryslim [wiryslim] Saturday, January 22, 2005 2:33 PM rawfood [Raw Food] sea vegetables Hi, I've been staying up with the latest info about toxic levels of mercury in seafood, and wondered if this is an issue with sea vegetables also - like dulse. Anybody know about this? Thanks, Tom _____
Guest guest
thanks all for the great info, links etc., on sea vegetables. I don't know why I have been avoiding getting it at home - since I love it in salads, soups, Japanese food, etc., when eating out. I'm armed with good info and instructions for my next shopping trip! love, pat Mail - PC Magazine Editors' Choice 2005
