Guest guest
Geez Donna, well it's great you quit!! I quit for 6 months once, that was my longest quit, and the next time you crave one, tell yourself this truth, if you were to light up right now, after all this time, and smoke a cigarette now, you would have your head over the toilet. Really. After 6 months that first one I smoked made me turn green. hugs, Chanda - thelilacflower Thursday, October 06, 2005 1:34 PM Chanda on becoming a veggie & not smoking You running around in your PLayboy Bunny outfit...........LOL Smoking is one habit that is hard to quit. Believe me I've fought ot for years. Hopefully I did it this time. Over 11 yrs. Guest guest
Wow Susan that is awesome. A friend of mine did the same thing, she quit for 10 years, but then the dummy went back. I was thinking about a hypnotist, but I am ding pretty good with my patches. I take it off at night because it was keeping me up. I set the clock for an hour b4 I have to get up, and throw the patch on, then go back to sleep, so that in an hour when I get up the patch is already working and I am not jonsin'. LOL. Hugs, Chanda - susan_hermit Thursday, October 06, 2005 3:09 PM re: Chanda on becoming a veggie & not smoking I went to a hypnotist and quit 7 years ago. I really thought it wouldn't work but it was only $40. and my daughter asked me to go. I didn't suffer any side effects like withdrawal or weight gain and I don't miss it a bit. Guest guest
I have nothing but respect for EX smokers! I have never smoked myself, unless you count all the second hand smoke I inhaled over the years... We could never get my mother to quit, She would never even consider it. Her mother died of something smoking related that I can not place now.. and her dad died of Cancer of the throat and lungs from smoking. Keep munching those carrots Chanda, believe me, your kids will thank you! and Donna, just give yourself a hug! and really, I mean this in complete support, so I hope I don't come off sounding gruff or anything, I do not like ciggy smoke, but I do recognize the dedication it takes to walk away! you gals rock! =) jenni On Thursday, October 6, 2005, at 10:23 PM, PuterWitch wrote: > Geez Donna, > well it's great you quit!! > I quit for 6 months once, that was my longest quit, and the next time > you crave one, tell yourself this truth, if you were to light up right > now, after all this time, and smoke a cigarette now, you would have > your head over the toilet. Guest guest
Ditto on all that, Jenni! My mom smoked until she was 70 (she started at about 12 years old). She did try to quit several times, but was never able to do it, even after a hypnotism session. But on her 70th birthday she ended up having to have a triple bypass, and they put her on the patch while she was in ICU... she hasn't smoked since, and she'll be 80 this year. *hugs* to all, and extra *quitterhugs* for the ones quitting anything they know is bad for them...
