insomniacs - eat chillies

There is no real solution. My nephew and I have tried it all. I have to admit

it, but back in my flower child days, reds and yellows were perfect and put me

right at the perfect spot but we all know you can't do that for long. If you're

a natural born speed freak that's just your make up. I've been like this since

birth and 3 hrs sleep is all I've even needed. If I'm lucky I might get 4 hrs.

I'm sorry to say that that might not be true for everyone. My husband eats

anything with chillies. He puts hot sauce on just about everything short of

ice cream. And he has chronic sleep issues. The only thing that would put

him to sleep is the drone of the TV, but that would just annoy me and keep

me awake. I don't know what the solution is!

See, it makes sense for someone who is a speed freak to have trouble

sleeping, but my husband is quite mellow and loves sleeping 8 or 9

hours, if he doesn't have to be up in the a.m. He just has trouble

turning off his brain at night. He sleeps like the dead when on

Ambien, but he gets addicted to the sleep that it gives him, which,

although not a real addiction, is kind of an addiction in itself, I

think. I have been seeing these commercials for Lunesta and am curious

about it.

I've read that 5-HTP is good for the " running mind " . It's an amino

acid precursor, supposedly safe.

I will look into that. Do you know what kind of stores sell it? I also told

him about kava, which I think I read about in this group the other day.

Craige, I'm sure you can get it places like GNC or VitaminWorld, or

maybe even a health food store.
