Guest guest
My husband and I love tofu Buffalo wings, so we bought a packet of seasoning to try and make our own. I sliced up the tofu and coated each slice with the powder and then put them in a baking dish sprayed with Pam. They were looking really dry, so I had to dab on a little hot sauce just to make them moist. (Note: I used a mild hot sauce we like that reminds us of the flavor of wing sauce.) These wings were so insanely hot that I could not finish mine. My husband was glad to hear it and gobbled them up. But more importantly, we both had stomach issues for about 24 hours afterward. We are definitely never buying that powder again. It is the brand of Williams and it did say " HOT! " on it, but I figured those things never really are. Boy was I wrong! Anyone have any *better* recipes for making tofu Buffalo wings? -Craige

However, he has found as he gets older (*lol* he's 40) he has some stomach troubles when he eats really hot food now... > Anyone have any *better* recipes for making tofu Buffalo wings? I'm sure someone does! Hope you find a great recipe! I made way too many wings working in a pizza joint in college (the chicken ones, even, probably was part of my subconscious turn to veg) - apparently I was the only one who could count to 12 fast. ;-)
Guest guest
My husband is the same way. Usually he just deals with it because he would never be able to give up the spicy foods. I should take a photo of the inside of our fridge. One entire rack on the door is all hot sauces. I have finally learned that it's not a reflection on my cooking when he adds one of his beloved sauces to just about everything I make, he just likes the added flavor. Plus, if I really did make something so hot that he didn't need hot sauce, I would not be able to eat it. So it's fine. Note, however, that he added no additional sauce to those wings I made the other night!! -Craige On 10/12/05, Amy <sandpiperhiker wrote: > My DH loves hot food (thehotter the better), so maybe I will get some > of that for him? Ditto here... took a while though. > Plus, if I really did make something so hot that he didn't need hot > sauce, I would not be able to eat it. So it's fine. It isn't as hot as regular tabasco, but DH is totally hooked on the flavor...
Guest guest
I don't think so. He's not so fond of the chipotle flavor. He has weird tastes though, that man. Knowing how much he loves both garlic and olives, when I passed by the pickle seller near my office the other day, I bought him a pint of garlic stuffed green olives. They smelled horrible to me. But Jeff was in heaven. The whole container was gone in two days. I wouldn't let him anywhere near me until he'd brushed his teeth after eating those stinky things. I'm glad they made him so happy, but I'm not sure I'll be getting those for him again any time soon! -Craige On 10/12/05, Amy <sandpiperhiker wrote: > > > Has he tried Tabsaco's Chipotle sauce? I make DH wait three-days worth of brushings to kiss me after a cigar! Lucky for him he doesn't do that much at all. But those olives sound good! :-)
