I'm trying to think of some good green veggies stuff to eat. I could only think of spinach, broccolli, and green beans. Anyone have any other ideas? Hi Donna, My mom liked some of the products I had her try like Boca's veggie lasagna. I haven't fixed the porties for her yet. Write with red. Paint with blue. Create magenta. Form ideas. Guest guest
After hearing everyone in this group talk so much about kale, I bought some the other day. It sure is cheap, too! Only $1.20 for a huge bunch. I'm not a huge fan of the dark leafy veggies, but a friend of mine made up a sauce to put on spinach salad that I loved, so I thought I'd give it a try on kale. I tore up 3 leaves (wasn't enough for one person, it really shrinks), excluding the stems. I boiled it about 8 mins. in half water, half veggie broth. Then I drizzled a little of this sauce over it (a little goes a long way, so although it's not the most healthy sauce, you don't need much at all. I have plenty left over to eat with kale again tonight, tomorrow, the next night...) 1 Tablespoon soy sauce (I prefer the lite kind) 1-2 tsps. sesame oil 1 tsp. lime juice (bottled is fine, that's what I used) 1/2 tsp. honey That was my friend's recipe. Measurements are not exact; you can boost whichever flavors you like best. I also added about a 1/2 tsp. of hot sauce (the kind you often see on the table in Asian restaurants: clear plastic bottle, red writing, red squeezy top). The whole thing was so amazing. I'm thinking this sauce would be good on just about any veggie. -Craige On 10/19/05, glpveg4life <glpveg4life wrote: > > Hi: > > Asparagus, cucumbers, pea pods, soy beans, all sorts of greens, mustard > greens, kale, collard greens. Guest guest
Hi Craige, aww that sauce isn't bad. At least it's not loaded with fats, LOL. SO glad to see that you enjoyed the greens. I may be really out there but I feel that " God " wants us to eat them. LOL <men in straight jacket coming towards me, gotta run> hugs, Chanda - Craige Moore Wednesday, October 19, 2005 10:07 AM Re: Other green veggies besides salad?? Of course a red condiment in a clear container wouldn't have > red writing. Duh!! *lol* I described it the same way (but called it a " glue bottle shape " rather than squeezy thing)to a shop owner, trying to find it once, so I can relate!
