Guest guest
Altiods also except a few sour versions have gelatin. yes, Craige, any info you have we will appreciate it. You never think about candy having gelatin or that many lotions and body products have glycerin. Watch labels because many products will state cruelty free or non animal glycerin or some type wording. Look for the little rabbit on or read labels on hair care products too....Donna Craige Moore <craige.moore wrote: It is surprising how much candy contains gelatin. If you want to avoid eating hoofs, start reading those labels. Ones I can think of off the top of my head... marshmallows, Skittles, Starburst. One probably should not be eating that kind of candy anyway. There are some veggie marshmallows out there, though. I got some recently from a Massachusetts company called Tiny Dancer, I think. Shoot, that's not right. That's an Elton John song. I have seen this company's products at Whole Foods lately. If anyone is interested, I can check at home as I still have some left. Guest guest
Id love to know what the marshmallows you eat are called. My kids would love that once in awhile. We used to eat smore's for a treat but I did know about animal trash in those so thats not something we eat anymore. I try to push more fruits for snack time, however we still like to have a treat now and then. purplepassion <thelilacflower wrote:Altiods also except a few sour versions have gelatin. yes, Craige, any info you have we will appreciate it. Guest guest
I will check at home. I forgot to look last night. Definitely see if your kids would like Ocean Spray craisins (I mentioned them yesterday). They now make fruit-flavored ones (yes, fruit-flavored fruit, heh) that are so sweet they taste like candy. I like the cherry and strawberry ones. I'm less fond of the orange ones. Craisins are much tastier than raisins, by a mile. -Craige On 10/13/05, Laura holmer <americanmommy32 wrote: > > Id love to know what the marshmallows you eat are called. I'm such a fuddy-duddy! *lol*

There's a discussion on marshmallows at cooking for engineers... in the comments section are some vegetarian possibilities. http://www.cookingforengineers.com/article.php?id=106 Just be aware the Emes Kosher-Jel ( " vegetable " bgelatin), despite all claims, is *not* veg. http://www.vegparadise.com/news55.html
